Boiling the Ocean: A Dystopian Political Thriller (The America, Inc. Saga Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 23 ratings

All you need to do to boil an ocean is set the world on fire.

In a retelling of his Orwellian 2015 Black Swan Saga, award-winning and Amazon best-selling author Mikael Carlson reintroduces a speculative fiction saga showing the world’s terrifying dystopian future.

Boiling the Ocean is the third installment in the ultimate struggle between liberty and tyranny. Former enemies forge new alliances as nefarious plots are uncovered. Adversaries settle old grudges while the “utopian” society ushered in during the Corporate Age crumbles. Will new leadership be able to forestall society’s plunge into anarchy, or will the terrorists succeed in ushering in the new era they envision?

"I had to remind myself to breathe. This book is fast-paced and filled with MANY unexpected twists." -- Amazon Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Boiling the Ocean is the third novel in a planned six-book serial drama. Readers are strongly encouraged to begin the journey with this The Black Swan Event and enjoy the America, Inc. Saga in the order they were written.

The end was only the beginning...

For the first time in its history, the world’s lone stock exchange is offline. The unexplained “aberrant trading behavior” has caused panic and confusion around the globe. While the new chief executive officer of America Incorporated and Intercorpex’s administrator-general take drastic measures to restore confidence and maintain their power, patrician Denali Keating has something more devious in mind.

New York is reeling from the terrorist attacks, but the worst is yet to come. As employees overcome the shock of the senseless carnage, Intercorpex schedules a summit with the world’s most powerful elites at their Midtown Manhattan headquarters. The gathering is the best hope for reconciliation…and a tempting target for a terrorist bent on causing havoc and destruction.

When an unlikely communication tips security forces off to his deadly plan, the race to stop an unthinkable massacre begins. The ensuing manhunt leads to surprising changes in fortune as former heroes become useful scapegoats, and the global balance of power shifts dramatically. By the end of the day, the one beacon of light left to beat back the encroaching darkness will find itself in grave danger of being extinguished.

Part military thriller, part political thriller, The America, Inc. Saga is the next great post-apocalyptic struggle between liberty and tyranny. Loyalties are shifting, and alliances are fracturing. Political bickering threatens to undo the “utopian” corporate state. Can differences be set aside, or will the “terrorists” succeed in boiling the ocean as they move closer to implementing a new world order?

Michael Bennit Series Mikael Carlson

The Michael Bennit Series

Michael Bennit is a former Green Beret turned history teacher who strives to inspire his students. After losing a bet to one of his classes, he is forced to do something he never imagined: run for political office..

Michael is a man of integrity and courage navigating a world that sees little of either. He's the perfect exemplar of what we should all demand from our leaders, and with a likable group of young staffers and close allies, they are a group you will root for until the very end.

Tierra Campos Mikael Carlson Politics As Unusual

The truth is only revealed when you pull back the blanket of lies.

Journalism in America is dead, but Tierra Campos is on a mission to reshape how news is presented. When a teenage gun control advocate is implicated in the school shooting that made him famous, she becomes a household name...and a target.

Tierra and Victoria are everything we want as modern heroines - intelligent, dedicated, confident, and honest. In a society where we see despicable behavior all around us, they bring with them a glimmer of hope that there are still good people out there.

Watchtower Thrillers Mikael Carlson Politics As Unusual

The ability to see someone's memories is a gift. To Watchtower, it's a weapon.

Eugene "Boston" Hollinger discovered that he has a gift - a traumatic brain injury has left him with the ability to tap into people's minds and see their memories. For Boston, it's an inconvenience he must learn to live with until he realizes that he can use it to uncover a dangerous mole selling our national secrets to the highest bidder.

Boston is the closest thing to a real-life superhero that exists. Imagine what you would do if you could close your eyes and experience another person's most traumatic memories. What could you uncover? What will Boston find along his journey?

The Santa Trilogy Mikael Carlson

Nothing can destroy the spirit of Christmas. Don't tell that to politicians.

Politics is the ultimate divisive subject in the modern age. It destroys families and relationships. Can two people with different political ideologies ever find happiness together?

The Santa Trilogy is a planned three-novel set that will explore the true magic and meaning of Christmas. A political thriller meets a romance novel where readers find the answer to an age-old question: which is more powerful, love or politics?

The Dancing Life Mikael Carlson

If you're going through hell, you might as well dance through it.

Braden is a boring finance guy on the run from his ruthless employer. Lyla is an adventurous, free-spirited soul running from her own set of demons. Can these two find happiness together, or will their pasts rip them apart?

Enduring love is forged in fire, and these two are about to put that to the test. The trials and tribulations they face in The Dancing Life is only the beginning of their journey - one that will get more treacherous as the trilogy unfolds. Are they meant to be together, or are they the greatest set of star-crossed lovers since Romeo & Juliet?

The America Inc Saga Mikael Carlson

The world is going to hell. In 2088, it arrives.

Corporations rose to power after misguided policies and fiscal mismanagement led to a global economic collapse that brought the world to its knees. Order was restored, but the people lost every ounce of personal freedom to do it.

With characters both heroic and deeply flawed, the divergence in perception is what makes this saga so compelling – the journey will challenge your biases and your view of modern society. If freedom is something to be cherished, why don’t more people stand to fight for it?

This novel is scary, because he is holding up a mirror to our society and what it reflects is not good. This might be an entertaining read, but between the lines lurking in the shadows is what could happen to our country. We need to heed warning signs of not so nice people trying to drastically change our way if life. I personally like my country zits and warts and all the nasty things we live with. Bring on next chapter.

I had to remind myself to breathe. This book is fast passed and filled with MANY unexpected twists. By book three, I'm attached to these characters. I'm invested in their success and demise (depending on the moment - remember - many twists). I quite honestly found myself holing my breath several times as I read on to see how my character friends made out. I sincerely hope there's more to come in this series.
