Clyde Hoch was born in the same home he lives in today. The home was in his family since 1869. It was built in 1750 or before. Clyde was on his way to Marine Corps boot camp three days after graduating high school. After boot camp, it was infantry training and an assignment to tanks. He worked his way up to tank commander. His biggest setback in his life was being in a very large anti-tank explosion which left him with post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury. He never realized he had these issues which led him to a very difficult life.
Clyde started writing by accident. For his first book, he was selected as one of the fifty great writers you should be reading by the Author Show. His fourth book won a bronze medal at the Readers Favorite international awards contest. He has ten books in print. He writes a monthly veterans column for a local newspaper. His latest book is all about his life and overcoming obstacles, called I Am A Miracle. In writing this book he wishes to give hope to those who have a very difficult time of life.
Clyde started a veterans organization called the Veterans Brotherhood. The Veterans Brotherhood takes veterans off the streets as soon as they hear they are homeless. They help veterans pay fuel bills, electric bills, and a host of other ways to assist veterans.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 9, 2020As the author states in his introduction his sole purpose in writing this book is to inspire people to continue to plug away and to make their lives better. He would also like to leave the world a better place than when he came into it. He would like people to understand they can endure almost anything that life throws at them.
‘Life is a wonderful combination of difficult experiences that are paradoxically intertwined with experiences of happiness in our lives. The difficult experiences are usually surprising, and we will never be ready for them. However, they make us resilient and make us appreciate what is there. Therefore, even with difficulty, one must not forget to be grateful. Because showing gratitude is a source of power that connects great faith and hope.’
I AM A Miracle by Clyde Hoch is a powerful and inspirational story about a man’s triumph over poverty and adversary. It was a brilliant read that will leave you feeling like a better person for having read it. It’s an impressive work by the founder of a nonprofit organization called Veterans Brotherhood, an international award-winning author, and a highly-decorated United States Marine Corps Veteran who heroically served in Vietnam as a tank commander.
People write memoirs to fixate, analyze, share, or rethink past events. This book refers to important and significant moments in the authors life. I’ll be looking forward to reading more from this author in the future. I would highly recommend this very open, honest and frank autobiography. A well-deserved five stars from me.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 20, 2020I AM A Miracle Kindle Edition by Clyde Hoch is an inspiring and gritty take of a man who faced life head-on, in spite of all the physical and emotional challenges he faced and his battles with addiction, this is as real as it can get. If you want to read a real story of a person who made-do and then worked to change and take charge of his and how you can too, you must read this. It is not a fiction, but a real and honest account of a real person and his awe-inspiring, real and motivating recounting of events. Just like Clyde says, this does help and push people who need that assertion and backing in their lives and hope that things can change, if only they have the will for it.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 5, 2020The story is written easy to follow. I relate to the life outside the military years. I recommend that you purchase this book. It is an honest telling of a man's life.
