About the author

George Koulaxidis was born in Essentuki on the first of April in 1991. It is a small town in southwestern Russia, with a strong presence of the Greek population. After the Perestroika, when the borders of USSR were opened he repatriated with his family to Greece in 1995, in the village of Herso in Kilkis. They lived there until 2001, when they moved to Cyprus, where they live until today in city of Paphos.
He was fascinated by reading literary books from an early age. His favorite books were "Les Miserables" by Victor Hugo and "The Count of Montecristo" by Alexandre Dumas. At the age of fifteen, he felt the desire to write poems and managed to get first place in a poetry competition, with the poem "I want". But due to puberty, for some strange reason he stopped writing, throwing all his works in the trash.
He studied silver-goldsmithing, but without later working professionally in this field.
In 2020, during the unprecedented quarantine, he decided to awaken his lost desire and write his first book. He had a great need to do so and this is how his imagination was captured in the novella "A little planet". At the same time he wrote other short stories and fairytales.
His dream is to express himself through his works and to convey his concerns about social issues to his readers!

- Reviewed in the United States on November 18, 2023This book lets us watch as Leo takes a journey to find himself. Leo is a young fisherman who isn't satisfied with his daily routine and wants to explore the world beyond the tree house he lives in. He heads to the center of the earth to discover the meaning of life. I immensely enjoyed reading about his journey and adventures. The book has a very satisfying ending :-)
- Reviewed in the United States on November 18, 2023This is a fun adventure to read! Follow the Adventures of Leo! From the moment he was born, on a boat none the less! The writing keeps your engaged. The lands and placed he goes are well described and even include a cool map at the beginning of the book! This would be a good read for road trips or other adventures too.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 23, 2024In "A Little Planet," the story unfolds through a series of meticulously crafted vignettes, each introducing new characters, dilemmas, and insights into the planet Aurora's unique society. The narrative structure is episodic yet cohesive, allowing for a rich exploration of themes such as community, individuality, and the pursuit of happiness within a beautifully imagined world. This method of storytelling, reminiscent of "The Little Prince," offers a mosaic of life lessons and adventures, encouraging readers to reflect on their values and the essence of human connections. The progression from one tale to the next is seamless, with each chapter building on the last to reveal a complex, interconnected universe that captures the imagination and the heart. Comparatively, while "The Little Prince" uses a similarly allegorical approach to explore philosophical themes through the eyes of its young protagonist, "A Little Planet" expands this exploration across a broader canvas, delving deeper into the societal and individual quests for meaning and fulfillment.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 21, 2024This is a richly imaginative tale that follows the journey of Leo, a young inhabitant of Planet Aurora, who seeks to understand his place in the universe and find the meaning of his life. His encounters with diverse characters and situations reflect a broader exploration of life's fundamental questions and the varied paths individuals take to find personal fulfillment and understanding. The narrative skillfully blends elements of fantasy, adventure, and philosophical inquiry. "A Little Planet" is a compelling read for those who enjoy stories that inspire reflection on the human condition and our place in the cosmos.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 23, 2024This story reminded me of a collection of Aesop's fables. Each chapter has a lesson to tell. Leo leaves his small village with his parent's blessing to "find himself." Along the way he meets many others, both good and evil, who teach him life-lessons. A fun adventure for middle-grade readers but needs a professional edit.
