Tessa's Thanksgiving (Westward Home and Hearts Mail-Order Brides Book 31) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 215 ratings

Tessa never thought of becoming a mail-order bride until she discovered the Westward Home and Hearts Matrimonial Agency was looking for a wife for Ian Douglas, the only man who could help her prove her father innocent of a crime that had held him in prison for seven years. And Ian lives in Colorado where the Wells Fargo robbery occurred.

Although it goes against all of matchmaker, Milly Crenshaw’s rules, she wants to help. She knows Tessa’s father and believes he’s innocent. Also, Ian’s need for a wife is urgent.

But there are complications. Tessa must take her grandmother with her and Ian isn’t expecting to support a wife and a grandmother. Besides, Milly isn’t sure Tessa’s strong, independent spirit will suit Ian.

The clock is ticking for both Tessa and Ian. Tessa must prove her father innocent before the end of the year while Ian is the guardian of a three-year-old niece, and he’s promised her a mother before Thanksgiving.

Tessa’s Thanksgiving is a delightful, quick read. I love the candidness of the main characters. Tessa is upfront with Ian as to why she asked to be his bride, and he is equal forthright, and yet each hope that the relationship will become more. I appreciated his sincerity and integrity, making him a swoon-worthy hero in my book. Tessa is from Boston, which I’ve often visited, so it was fun to read references to the city. Ian’s niece is sweet and precocious without being obnoxious, and the secondary characters are well-developed and unique. I enjoyed the ending, and there were a couple of twists I didn’t see coming. Highly recommended

I loved this book! It's a clean, sweet book filled with wonderful characters, Tessa and Ian of course, but then there's Granny and little Maisey, who kept me laughing. I loved the original storyline of the book and the way the story played out. This is another great addition to the Westward Home and Hearts series and another great book by author Elaine Manders. I highly recommend this book and think you will enjoy it as much as I did.

A great book about the life of a young lady and her journey to prove her Father's innocence. The characters were dealing with hardships that occurred. A must read for those who enjoy historical western romance kindle books from Amazon at a special price and from a delightful author who keeps me entertained throughout the entire book.

There was just enough suspense in the story to add drama, bit not enough to overwhelm the sensitive reader.
Tessa appears confident and determined. Her confidence, though, comes from her faith that her plan will succeed.
Ian is confident and determined... and a pushover when it comes to his wife. I love that he can give in to her wishes, even when they are diametrically opposed to his, and still appear strong and manly.

When Ian, who can help prove her father's innocence, advertises for a mail-order bride to help him raise his orphaned niece, Tessa jumps at the chance. Taking her grandmother along, she immediately falls in love with the little girl but the marriage is supposed to be platonic. Though, with a common purpose, love evolves. Short, sweet and clean novella with a lovely cover is a good bedtime read.

This book is a great read. Tessa and Ian's story is a sweet mail-order bride story with just the right amount of drama, suspense and romance to keep you turning the pages. I feel in love with little Maisy, she was such a precious little girl.
