5.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended
Well crafted plot and characters. The whole book is interwoven with a delicious dry sense of humour. Looking forward to the sequel.

4.0 out of 5 stars A lively tale full of a wide range of characters
The story develops as Douglas and Alison strive for resolution as to their missing spouses. As their search intensifies, murder mystery rears it's head and a wide range of colourful characters add to the texture. And Maureen MacNeil is not a DS you would want to get involved in the mix. The story rattles along at a fair old pace, and as all good stories do, has you turning the pages in search of the inevitable resolution. I enjoyed it, and look forward to reading more of this author's work.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very readable!
Roderick Hart writes really well. His characters are gently sketched in more and more detail until I feel I truly believe in them. He avoids the obvious but doesn’t make the mistake of unbelievable scenarios. The plot was nicely woven with false leads and subtle humour. My only complaint was that the book ended too soon, just as I was really settling into it.
