The romance is sweeet and the overall vibe of this book is Hallmark Holiday Movie material (Hallmark, are you seeing this?? Because this is your next hit movie, for real!)
Do yourself a favor, pour a mug of hot cocoa, put a fire in the fireplace, and curl up with this feelgood, cozy romance!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 16, 2024Celine used to love Christmas, but the grinning angel on top had reminded her of Remy, her ex, last December when she caught her then-fiance cheating with one of her friends. Celine takes her drunken anger out on the tall snow-covered Christmas tree in the town square of Callander, a Scottish village. She falls and makes a snow angel in the snow. A stranger, Angus, helps a wobbly Celine up. Her best friend Fiona comes along and helps her get home and she tries to sleep through her hangover after celebrating Fiona’s hen party which just happened to be on the anniversary of her being cheated on. She’d agreed to be Fiona’s maid of honour at her wedding and planned to stay in Scotland for a month before returning to France. And the best man happens to be the groom’s cousin, Angus. Can she make a fresh start this new year? Will this heart-throbbing highlander win her heart?
An enjoyable read with the festive Christmas atmosphere and the sights, sounds, and smells of a wonderous holiday season and a cute cat named Yoda. A heartwarming Christmas romance!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 26, 2025Celine’s Highland Christmas was an enjoyable read. It’s one of those books that indulges in innocent romance. I looked forward each day to picking up the book. I adored the character of Angus, a real Scottish gentleman, who often wore a kilt in the story. Celine comes into the novel as a gal who’d been with a cheating fiancé, so she is reluctant to explore her feelings for Angus. However, he wins her over with his charm. Although the romance is completely predictable, it doesn’t take away from the great writing and endearing characters.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 18, 2024I can not get enough of this author. Well developed characters. Celine goes to Scotland to be in her best friend's wedding and to stay in her house while the happy couple is on their honeymoon. Celine was still recovering from a devastating breakup with her fiance and was definitely not looking for romance. One look at the best man, Angus, and it was all over. Follow their story as they develop deep feelings for each other. Then Celine's ex shows up. Will that cause a rift between her and Angus? Read to find out! Can't recommend this book enough!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 19, 2024Celine’s hatred of Christmas almost gets the best of her all due to heartbreak but a chance encounter with a Scottish stranger may change that for the better. The story of Celine and Angus starts off with a drunken meeting but turns into a beautiful tale of love. Reading this book felt like I was watching a Christmas Hallmark movie and of course who doesn’t love a classic story of love and mending heartbreak?
Celine’s story is definitely worth the read.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 10, 2024Reading through this book reminded me a lot of those Hallmark movies that would play at my job during the holidays. That's not a bad thing. Great plot, great characters, great everything. This book was a nice and enjoyable read.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 18, 2023I’ve been watching cute Christmas themed romances on TV, as is my tradition during this season, so Jos Saunders’ “Celine Highland Christmas” fitted in perfectly.
It has all the satisfying ingredients in a romance novel that I look for at this time of year: a festive background (this one has the bonus of a wonderful Scottish location and all the cultural touches of the area); an unexpected “meet cute” with likeable characters; and a clean romantic, humorous plot line to keep me engaged and smiling throughout this light and clean romance novel. Recommended for romance fans looking to be amused and delighted.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 25, 2024Celine’s Highland Christmas is a classic Christmas romance. By that I mean: Think “Hallmark Movie.” If you know what a “cozy mystery” is like, then you will understand why I call it a “Cozy Romance.” It is pretty clean. There are a few swear words and some implied sex.
Set in Scottland during the Christmas season, it is the story of a fast-blossoming romance between a French girl and a burly Scottish highlander. It flows smoothly with very little conflict. Only when the ex fiancé shows up unannounced is there any tension and that is brief. There are no real surprises and it is quite predictable. The two main characters are fairly well developed. The Scottish dialect is sometimes difficult to read.
Fans of cozy romance will enjoy this story and root for Celine and Angus as their relationship develops. It’s a quick easy read. Save it for a snowy night with some hot chocolate.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Festive, Heartwarming Romance
Jos Saunders' Celine's Highland Christmas is a delightful holiday romance that will sweep you off your feet. When French mademoiselle Celine heads to Scotland for her friend's wedding, she expects a peaceful time in the Highlands—but her friend has other plans. Enter a Highlander with a bagpipe, and Christmas magic does the rest.
With charming characters, a festive setting, and plenty of unexpected sparks, Saunders creates a heartwarming story filled with romance, laughter, and a touch of holiday magic. A perfect read for those looking for a sweet and cozy Christmas escape!

5.0 out of 5 stars A warm fuzzy romantic Christmas story.
Celine’s Highland Christmas contained everything I expected in a romantic Christmas story; endearing characters, witty dialogue, and the perfect setting: the picturesque Scottish Highlands.
Celine had endured an emotional year, her break-up with her ex-Remy had all but exhausted her. She’d suffered his lies for long enough and was glad to get away to attend her friend’s wedding in Callander, Scotland.
The story, although not predictable in its plot, you somehow felt confident in the direction it flowed in, with author Jos Saunders gently weaving you through the story. For me, this is what made it such a joyful relaxing and at the same time, emotional story. The perfect heart-warming, happy Christmas and New Year tale that you can’t fail to enjoy.
I loved the hunky, sexy, Scotsman, Angus, with his authentic accent and gentle manner, made me root for him and Celine. A warm fuzzy, enchanting story that will remain a firm favourite of mine.
A thoroughly enjoyable, well-written book with beautiful descriptions of the snowy Scottish landscape, which actually made me feel cold.
I was sorry when the book ended. I hope there is a follow up book.
Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet romance
Not looking for love, or wanting anything to remind her of her last Christmas, Celine goes to Scotland for her friend's wedding. She gets drunk at her friend's hen party and impersonates a cow, which is the start of a beautiful romance with the lovely Angus.
I loved the characters in this book and read about snow while it was over 30 degrees outside in New Zealand.

5.0 out of 5 stars Endearing cozy Holiday Romance.
I love a good Christmas story, and " Celine's Highland Christmas" did not disappoint.
This well-written, engaging holiday story tells the tale of a disillusioned Celine, recently let down in love, who gets more than she bargained for when she attends the Highland wedding of a close friend.
This endearing tale is best read next to a cosy fire with a glass of vino or a cup of hot chocolate.
Sure to warm the cockles of your heart.
Recommended.
