Feeling obligated to protect the young woman, he leaves her in the care of his godmother, the Dowager Countess of Drummond, who takes Miss Woodforde under her wing. But the aggravating Miss Woodforde refuses to leave the investigation to him. As she meddles in the hunt for her father’s killer, Ethan worries for her safety as her efforts to find the killer bring her closer to danger. Can he protect her from the traitor? For that matter, can he protect his heart from succumbing to her charms?

As an avid reader, I became a fan of Georgette Heyer's Regency novels, then started writing Regency romance novels as a hobby. I particularly enjoy writing about strong, resourceful women in an age where it was thought that women were incapable of taking care of themselves and couldn't own property.

Kindle e-books have allowed me to grow as a writer. With each novel, I have made mistakes, but I have learned so much along the way. I like to read reviews from my readers and am thankful that they take the time to critique my work.

I am currently retired in beautiful Port Royal, SC, with my husband and our dog Sally, happily working away on my next novel.

    I've been reading the Kindle version of this Regency historical romance, and I enjoy it so much, I purchased the Audible version to listen to on tape. The story takes place in East Sussex, England in 1812. The descriptions of clothing, characters, and events are so vivid, I close my eyes and picture every person and every single thing that is happening. The female Audible narrator has a British accent which enhances the setting and the time period. The author of this novel seems to be skilled in writing and storytelling. I can only say that this book is amazing. I'm totally caught up in the "smuggling" plot, and with Marcie trying to learn the identity of her father's murderer.

    Marcie wants to see her father’s killer brought to justice. Ethan is chasing a spy who he suspects may have killed Marcie’s father. He has promised to find the killer, but Marcie doesn’t see any results and takes matters into her own hand much to Ethan’s dismay. Will look for more of this author’s books.
