Whiskey Jug Genie Kindle Edition

3.0 out of 5 stars 1 rating

Martin couldn't have known all the chaos he would unleash when he bought an old whiskey jug while on vacation. He didn't even believe in genies and if he had, he certainly wouldn't have released one in London.

Bubba had been in this darned jug for centuries. And this world he found himself in didn't make any sense at all to him. Martin had assured him it wasn't all some form of magic, but he had his doubts.

Join these two as they try to sort out how to get back out of this dilemma they're in. Sometimes humorous, sometimes serious, join Bubba and Martin in London, in Whiskey Jug Genie.

I wasn't quite sure that I would like Whiskey Jug Genie based on the excerpt I saw online before reading the book. A genie named "Bubba" didn't necessarily pull me in. However, the author put together a story arc that seemed to work, featuring loyalty and friendship, romance and suspense. The story drags at times, as many unnecessary details of the characters' business ventures weigh down what is otherwise a more lively narrative. It's a little repetitive here and there, but overall I was satisfied with the story and put up with the parts that didn't interest me as much because I really wanted to see how it would turn out. The characters were likable and you get to feel like you know them and their personalities.
