- Reviewed in the United States on May 5, 2024a gripping psychological thriller that expertly intertwines elements of crime and apocalypse. The story delves deep into the psyche of Anne Chambers, a character haunted by her past and thrust into a desperate quest for redemption. Feldman masterfully blurs the lines between victim and villain, creating a complex narrative that challenges perceptions of justice and morality.
Set against a backdrop of societal collapse, the novel is both thrilling and thought-provoking, exploring the intricate dynamics between Anne and her estranged mother as they navigate a world teetering on the brink. The plot is intense and well-paced, with each chapter adding to the mounting tension and the ultimate revelation of the true cost of forgiveness.
"Politician" is a must-read for fans of dark, compelling storytelling, offering a profound commentary on the human condition and the shadowy corners of familial bonds.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 4, 2024Here's a book where you love to hate the antagonist. She's smart, clever, a meticulous planner and I wanted her to be caught for her misdeeds so much. It's a prequel and this book would propel me into reading the next book if only to find out if she ever gets her just desserts. Well written and thought provoking. I liked the detective protagonist and rooted for him to find the truth all the way through the book.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 2, 2024I liked finding out the basis for Anne Chamber's corrupt and scheming character - I recommend reading this book before reading Fracture!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 3, 2024I’m giving this book 4 stars, mainly because the writing is good. I really felt like I was in the story, with great descriptive content. I just didn’t connect with the main character, and try as I may, couldn’t get very far in it. But if you’re in the mood for a psychological thriller, this is right up your alley. I got a free copy of this book and am writing my review voluntarily.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 16, 2024I enjoyed this look into Anne Chambers after reading the full-length novel Fracture, but would recommend reading this first. Of course, if you do, you won't be able to resist moving on to Fracture, just to see how it all ends. But read it anyway. If your tastes are anything like mine, you'll be glad you did.
