Return Home (White Lake Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.8 out of 5 stars 106 ratings

After a family tragedy, Cynthia Lewis finds herself on an extended stay in England, with no indication of when she might be able to return to her home on St. Simons Island. How can she leave when she knows her brother’s family needs her? To Cynthia, needing to be in England is a sign—her budding relationship with Daniel Benton isn’t meant to be. After all, her heart is still recovering after the loss of her husband, Philip.

When she finally returns home, Cynthia expects to fall into her same old life—but when you’re out of touch, people and places change. Her family, her best friend Purvell, her friends on the island, and even Daniel have changed—but she hasn’t. Why can’t she move forward? And why does she keep running away? Once again, tragedy lurks at Cynthia’s doorstep when someone from her past returns to darken her world. Suddenly, Cynthia is forced to face her fears—and her future—head on.

Return Home is a heartwarming story of family, friendships, home, and second chances that you won’t want to end.

I don’t normally purchase fiction...but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised how wonderful both of these books were. I purchased White Lake after running into the author at a local Barnes and Noble...started reading and was immediately hooked. Couldn’t put it down and couldn’t wait for the sequel to come out!! Fast forward and Return Home was incredible! Twists and turns that held my attention right until the end. I thought the ending would be one way and Susan Amond Todd keeps you in suspense until the very last few pages. Love it! This is a great read and would make an awesome gift for anyone who loves to read.
Thank you so much! Can’t wait to see what’s next Susan!!

White Lake ,the 1st book ,is just amazing. Susan Todd is a truly gifted writer!!! I was on Jekyll Island reading a book about St. Simon's Island and Jekyll Island, this was just the setting, not the topic ,but part of it.,It was surreal..the book was Family, Love ,Friendship, Living, Joy's and Heartbreak, and finding self, strength,I did not want it to end, I savored every page even a little mystery in there..I fell asleep trying to stay awake to and find out what was going on..And when I got home from Jekyll Island , the new book ,Return Home, was on my porch the timing perfect as I just finished the book, White Lake, the night before about midnight...It's off and running right where White Lake left off!! It going to be a great week!! I need to savor, I can't wait for her to write a new book ,so I'll have to slow down on this book.. it's going to be hard!! All the character are just so real and everyone can find something or someone to relate to.. Happy reading folks!!!

This is the sequel to the author's first book "White Lake". Again the character is in her late 50's and finding her way after the loss of her husband. There is romance, intrigue, love between generations of a family and the power of good friends to help you along the way. Very satisfying read. Bit of a surprise at the end that I would never have guessed. Recommend!

I thoroughly enjoyed Susan's first book "White Lake" and this book "Return Home" was the continuation of a great story. If, you didn't read Susan's first book, she did a wonderful job bringing in information from White Lake that enables the reader to know the back story and not get lost trying to figure who the characters are and how they fit in the story. As in White Lake there were some unexpected surprises. You think you have it figured out....and you don't. Great Job, Susan. Looking forward to your next book!!

I enjoyed the first book and looked forward to Return Home. Did NOT disappoint! It was a great story! I feel like I know these characters. I really want to get down to the Jekyll Island-St. Simons area now...Sue’s descriptions did a great job of sparking my interest!

Waiting on the next...and the next...

I loved both stories White Lake and Return Home of Cynthia, her journey after the death of her husband and the discovery of what her husband hid from her. While Cynthia's journey moving forward into a new life had me cheering for her and Daniel. Very well written!
