His Heart’s Melody (Star Launch Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars 82 ratings

Winning Star Launch had been both a blessing and a bane for Melody Fairchild. She saved her family’s horse farm, but her love life is a shambles. The men she’s dated are more interested in her fortune and celebrity status than in her. Even worse, an obsessed stalker won’t leave her alone and has already tried to kidnap her once. Booking a two-month stay at a remote resort in northern Minnesota, Melody seeks peace and anonymity until her stalker is behind bars. What she hadn’t counted on was an immediate attraction to the resort owner’s son.

U.S. Coast Guard pilot Nicholas Grant is home on bereavement leave after his father’s death. Nick discovers the family’s resort is close to foreclosure, and it’s up to him to find a solution. Nick’s sister recognizes the pop star staying at their resort and shares a tabloid scandal about her, and Nick insists they respect her privacy. Despite his grief and the financial strain, he can’t help but feel drawn to Melody. She’s nothing like the spoiled celebrity portrayed by the tabloids.

Passion grows between Nick and Melody, but her stalker shows up with murder on his mind. When Melody discovers tabloid pictures taken at the resort led the stalker to her, she’s devastated. Did Nick and his family betray her? Who else could’ve taken the pictures? Even if she escapes her stalker’s clutches, can she trust the man who stole her heart?

This is a slightly suspenseful romance that kept me intrigued from the opening pages, right up to the successful conclusion. Winning a competition should have been a joyful experience, but it comes with hidden dangers that the contestants are not always aware of. If that contestant is a lovely young woman who sings like an angel, then the threat is even more significant. With a crazed stalker knowing her every move, Melody goes into hiding where she is sure that she will not be recognized, especially if she takes on her friend's identity. Unfortunately, that does not prove to be the case. However, meeting the taciturn Nicholas Grant is a new experience for Melody, and falling in love with the Coast Guard pilot puts her in a spin, but when it seems that his family has betrayed her for their own ends, the bottom of her world drops out. Fortunately, the person who exposed her takes responsibility for their actions, and it opens the way to reconciliation between the couple. The novel comes to a sweet conclusion and a youthful error becomes a place of new beginnings. I received a copy of this lovely romance as a gift from Booksprout and this is my honest and voluntary review.

This was a great story! Melody is hiding from a stalker on a snowy resort in northern Minnesota and meets a member of the coast guard who is going through some family turmoil. I loved the setting and the attraction between Melody and Nick. The scenes with the stalker were also very suspenseful. It’s interesting to see what a successful singer might go through because of their career, and how all those things affect their love life.

The hero and heroine's journey was captivating, and the role secondary characters played and their motives was realistic and sympathetic. All in all, I really enjoyed this second installment of the Star Launch series.

Winning Star Launch helped Melody become a celebrity. However, along with fame came a stalker. When the stalker becomes dangerous, Melody decides to take a break by staying at a resort in northern Minnesota. She believes that being in the middle of nowhere under an assumed name and with a new hair color and style she will be safe while authorities try to get her stalker. While at the resort she falls for Nick, a member of the family that owns the resort.
Will she be able to fool everyone about her identity? Will she be safe from her stalker?

This was such a great read! Melody won a competition and saved her families horse farm but has ended up alone as people only want to know her for her fame and fortune! She’s also attracted a stalker and so has gone into hiding in a resort where she meets Nick whose family owns the resort that is struggling after the loss of his father. It’s a wonderful story full of romance and passion, grief and loss, suspense, danger and drama and it has you hooked from start to finish.
