    Calista Lindquist has been through the wringer. She lost her friends and father at the hands of a monster. So she did what any woman would, she trained. And now she hunts those monsters. Some of them are human monsters. But the clowns are certainly not human.

    I truly enjoyed this book. Finding out the truth about Master Poppie genuinely threw me for a loop. The language is colorful. The descriptions of Eastern Pennsylvania make you feel like you're tearing down I-76 in the passenger seat of Cali’s rented Ford Explorer.

    A little bit of horror. A little bit of sci-fi. Some cringe moments from certain characters. Some laugh-out-loud moments. A wild ride that I’m grateful to have taken. Cannot wait for a sequel!

    This is the fourth book I purchased and read by the writing team known as Viktor Bloodstone. All were worth the cost and time invested to read them. The tone of this one was unexpected. It was darker and left me with the word "why" each evening when I put it on the table to continue reading the next day. About 100 pages or so, I understood. It was not meant to be a another teen/horror/comedy or in-the-woods slasher story. It was a homage to all of the detective paperbacks of the 1950's and 1960's. It was an updated version of the cheap pulp novels! Instead of the boozy low-rent detective with a bottle in the bottom drawer of his desk, this book has Calista Lindquist. As with pulp fiction, there is no calm and peaceful pages. This book 290 pages of murder, sex, horror, dark alleys, coincidences and surprises. I suggest you buy it, enjoy it and take it for what it is...
