One Good Time: A Titus Ray Thriller (Titus Ray Thrillers Book 10) Kindle Edition

4.8 out of 5 stars 421 ratings

CIA operative Titus Ray is supposed to be enjoying his time off after a grueling mission.
His division head specifically told him to go home and have a good time with his family.

But then, in the middle of his daughter’s birthday party, when he receives disturbing news about an imminent threat to America’s heartland, he postpones having a good time with his family and agrees to lead a joint FBI/CIA operation to the southern border. How could he do otherwise?

He couldn’t have a good time when . . .

A group of terrorists have access to a new bioweapon . . .
The CIA has specific intel about an imminent biological attack on America’s heartland to be carried out by a group of terrorists already in the country. Unfortunately, the group entered the country illegally, and their location is unknown.

A notorious terrorist leader is heading for the Texas border . . .
When the leader of a Hezbollah-trained terrorist group arrives in Caracas, Venezuela, and joins a caravan of migrants making their way across Central America to a border crossing in Texas, the CIA believes the man’s intentions are to meet up with the other terrorist leaders to plan the final stages of the attack.

An opportunity to prevent a mass casualty event is available . . .
Titus agrees to do the unthinkable and make sure the terrorist leader is allowed to cross the border unhindered, so he and his operational team can follow him to his destination and prevent the attack. Even though Titus believes his training and skills are up to the task, ultimately, he has to rely on his faith, his prayers, and God’s guidance when the mission reaches a critical stage and his very survival is at stake.

Is Titus up to the challenge of working with a slightly unhinged operative from his past?

Can he bring together a team of misfits who have trouble getting along with each other?

Editorial Reviews

Review

A Goodreads reviewer writes, "The characters are very well-developed and believable. I enjoyed the way the author described Titus Ray's internal struggles and character flaws, creating a very authentic main character. The story was action-packed, and one is left wondering how the author could be so knowledgeable of the CIA and the work of their covert operatives. I've read and enjoyed many Robert Ludlum books and I'd rank this series right up there with his!"

I really loved this book. It was so thrilling to listen to the audiobook. It was excellent of course, I really enjoy the narrator so much, he does an excellent job of bringing the story to life. I really enjoy the Titus Ray character so much, and the other characters in the story are great too. I hope it is not too long to wait for the next story with Titus Ray! A wonderful Christian and clean story.

I have loved all the Titus Ray series books, but this may be the best. The plot is so eerily plausible, that it may keep you up at night. If not the plot, then just because the book is so hard to put down. I hope the CIA really does have analysts who pay close attention to foreign news reports. I like how Titus shares his faith with others, always in a non-preachy, non -judgmental way. He is growing, as an operative, as a husband and dad, and in his own new faith. This is a very well crafted, enjoyable book, and I can't wait for the next one.

I don’t know where to begin to describe how much I enjoy Luana Erhlich’s writing! I’ve read every one of her books from the Titus Ray thrillers, to the Mylas Grey mysteries and Silas McKay suspense series. You can tell that she has done a lot of research for each of the series to describe the workings within the CIA, as well as the private detective and security worlds. Beyond her research, is her ability to draw you into each story. She writes from the perspective of the main character’s inner thoughts. Since each main character is a Christian, you can see how God is working within them and how they are growing over time. I’m so thankful that God has given Mrs. Erhlich this amazing gift to write stories that are completely engaging, as well as uplifting and with a generous dose of dry humor! I always eagerly look forward to the next book!

I come away from Luana's work knowing my time was not wasted. Strong character development, intriguing plots, and a good time is always had.

This story had a lot of moving parts with a lot of different characters but Mrs Ehrlich kept them all cohesive and moving in the same direction. One might feel “safer” living in Small Town, America but with the enemies & evils of todays world “out there”…..???
Our well being and security rest in our loving God’s hands. When the evil devastates our lives, God is there to wrap us in his comfort. I’m thankful for the people He has called into service to our country….those who work tirelessly, with integrity, without thought for themselves, trying to keep our country, our way of life, our daily lives protected from the growing evils “out there”.
This book made me think sadly of all the thousands who have already lost their lives to this pervading darkness. The bombings, the shootings, the wars, the corruption ……we are vulnerable everywhere . BUT God is light and in HIM is no darkness at all.
Evil will not always have its way.
