    Whoa! This book literally starts off with a bang. Kristin Edwards was almost killed with her parents in the bombing. Who wants her dead? Why? As a successful defense attorney could her would-be killer be one of her clients? Her life has been so hard lately. Her fiancé Gregory just upped and disappeared, leaving Kristin to mourn what might have been. Now her parents have been killed which was intended to be her demise too. All she has left of family is her brother Lewis who is an FBI agent and her cousin Geno. After the bomb her life falls apart so Lewis recommends she go on vacation. She chooses a place that she and Gregory had planned to go with a secret island for BDSM activities they were just starting to explore. There she meets the enigmatic Lucien who is a Dominant and senses Kristin is the perfect submissive.
    The story is very good if that was the only plot but there will be surprising twists that I did not see coming. If you like mystery, intrigue, lots of steam with interesting characters, you will want to read this book. I volunteered to review an ARC of it through BookSirens.

    Kristin is a lawyer in LA whose parents are killed in a car bombing and her boyfriend has left her. Kristin's brother talks her into going on vacation. Lucien is also spending a few days at the same resort to follow and monitor Kristin for someone. Kristin and Lucien enter into a dom/sub realtionship while at the resort. Lucien doesn't find what is boss is looking for while falling for Kristin. What happens when they go back to the real world? Do they figure out who is behind everything going on?.

    I fell in love with Kristin as she survives a horrible experience. When her brother gets her to escape to an island to get away, she accepts and is intrigued by all that the island has to offer. Enter Lucien who sees Kristin as the perfect sub and uses their time together to introduce her to all it can be. Yet Lucien’s secret is hanging between them. When her brother steps in, Lucien takes matters in to his own hand to keep Kristen safe. How will it all end? You have to read to find out and don’t expect to put the book down until you turn the last page as the plot twists will not let up!

    This is another wonderful story from Anise. I could not put this book down. It's so full of twists and turns that kept me turning the pages. This story has a lot of elements to it. Mystery, suspense, betrayal, very erotic romance. It's heartbreaking and also heartwarming. So get ready to hold on tight. This is a must read. I highly recommend

    The book starts off with one heck of an intro. Lucien and Kristin story is not lacking in any area it had a mixture of things. Most of all Anise gave an intriguing plot. I have to say you don't want to skip this one.

    There were so many twists and turns in this book, it kept my head reeling. I also enjoyed every minute of it. I started reading, thinking I would just read a few chapters before bed. Well, that did not happen. It is now 1 a.m. I have to wake up early, and I have no regrets. I got so engrossed in the story, I couldn't put it down. This is a new author to me, but I am so glad I found her. I look forward to reading more from her in the future.

    This is an enjoyable steamy, intriguing mystery, a rollercoaster ride with many unexpected twists and turns as well as some BDSM exploration. I found myself easily drawn into Lucien and Kristen's story enjoying every minute of it and didn't want to put my Kindle down.
