Crossfire (Jesse Quinn Mysteries) Kindle Edition
With her regular partner on family leave, Jesse is temporarily paired with her nemesis, a detective of the St John’s County Sheriff’s Office who thinks women don’t belong on the Major Crimes squad. Zack Oliver is in a hurry to override her objections, close the case and move on. Jesse just needs to find the real killer of the popular local pastor before Zack pins the murder on an innocent man.
Meanwhile, at home, Jesse is trying to reconcile with her teenage daughter who is grounded for entertaining a boy in her bedroom. The teen is now lobbying to move into Jesse’s ex’s house where she thinks the rules will be more relaxed.
And then, there’s Seth Cameron who would like to become more in Jesse’s life than just a friend.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 5, 2024I loved the first Jesse Quinn mystery, Bullseye, so I read the latest one -- Crossfire -- and enjoyed it just as much as the first. The main character Jesse Quinn is refreshing. The plot is exciting. Highly recommended!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 9, 2024A lot of mystery, a little romance, and a touch of family drama weave together in Skye Taylor’s CROSSFIRE to produce a winning novel. This second book in the Jesse Quinn Mysteries series is as real as it gets. Get the book, get reading, and go along for the ride. Siren optional.
