- Reviewed in the United States on January 25, 2024My rating and review are based on the story by Annie Knox, A Sister's Love. I did, read the entire book, and enjoyed pretty much every story, though.
What would you do for your sibling? Well, if you had asked me this as a kid, I would have done anything for my brother and sister. Now that I'm older and things have changed, I would still do ANYTHING for my brother, so I definitely understand Kia's perspective in this story. If I had caught my dad attacking my brother, one day, I might have done what Kia did, and afterwards, I probably would have run away to protect my brother, just like she did. However, I highly doubt a haunted toy would have been to blame. But who knows, Child's Play was one of my favorite movies as a kid.
This story was fantastic. I loved the writing, I loved the dedication to protecting Kevin and I even loved when it looked like it was pointing the finger at one of them for killing their father but it ended up being the other way around and not for the reasons I thought. It was so creepy and heartbreaking at the end, but I loved it. Now please excuse me while I unhaul every toy in my house 🤣😭

- Reviewed in the United States on October 29, 2023Terrors from the Toy Box is a collection of stories centered around some frightfully eerie toys that really deliver on the uneasy of the what ifs I think we have all felt. I know for me as a child I absolutely hated dolls. I had one that creeped me out so badly I snuck out side and threw her away, to only have her reappear in our toy room. (Mom found her in the trash and brought her back in the house). Imagine my surprise and complete melt down I had over her sitting on the shelf. So for me Phobica anthology of short stories had a profound creep factor that will forever be seared into my grey matter.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 7, 2023This book had a bunch of different stories put together. Mostly all of the stories were about some kind of possessed toy. I enjoyed more then half of them. They had some pretty creepy stories, I especially was crept out about the stories that involved dolls!! All in all it was a good book to read.
