A Warrior's Heart: A Medieval Romance Kindle Edition
The life of a rogue isn’t always easy, especially for a woman. But Brighid isn’t just any woman. She’s intelligent, agile, and spirited – and determined to discover the secrets of her questionable past. Her only clue is a pendant in the shape of a black and silver dragon; the same design worn by the King’s Guard.
She’s convinced her answer lies in the heart of the kingdom, and she’s willing to do whatever it takes to get there. Even if it means chopping off her raven locks and binding her curvy, petite figure to refashion herself as a scruffy lad to join their ranks.
Knight Roran McShane’s search for new recruits brings him to the far reaches of the kingdom. Only a select few prove worthy, but the pluck and determination of one particularly small but feisty lad moves Roran to do something he has never done before – take on a squire.
The mute lad proves to be resourceful and skilled, even if he is rather odd and shunned by the others. Roran is forced to second-guess his decision when he begins to feel unnaturally protective of the boy.
When his squire’s deception is revealed, he is both relieved and appalled by the knowledge that he is really a she, and far from a child. Honor and ethics require that he sever all ties, but Roran soon learns that is easier said than done. The lass is no sheltered lady, waiting to be rescued and before she’s done, she’ll surprise Roran, the knights-in-training, even the king himself.
For a warrior’s heart knows no bounds.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 26, 2017This is a charming story where almost every character is a worthy human being. The subtext is all about love in its many forms. I found many sentiments in the text that echo my own.
In the beginning the H wishes a woman who can claim his heart, his mind and his body. Later when he finds her and they are making love - she remarks "God was in that."
Wow someone else recognizes the sanctity of sexual love.
Just a lovely book.
By the way there is a moment where two men are intending to rape the h before launching an attack on the H's camp/cut to her arriving to warn the H with bruises all over her. A few tense moments until the reader realizes she must have escaped that.....breathe a sigh of relief.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 23, 2016I Absolutely love this story every bit of it! It was Definitely worth the read and its a keeper for real...its one i will likely read again and again because its a well written story. i love all the characters...and didnt want it to end but sadly it did come to an end. and like one of the reviews i read before i got this story was a story about Sir Sean, yes i would so love a story about him too and see how his story is going to be like...the way the author made him to be seems like his story would be very interesting. but thats only the author do write one for Sir Sean. anyway all in all this story has become one of my favorite!

The interaction with the characters is lovable. Wouldn't mind more stories about the other characters, like sir Sean or the lads. Look forward to reading more from this author.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 11, 2020It has been a few years since I first read this book, I like it just as much now as I did when I first read it. The love story that develops between Roran and Brighid is strong and all encompassing. Brighid and Roran are made for each other, both are great warriors who bring out a side of themselves not easily shown to others. When they are apart they feel the hollowness the distance brings. The secondary characters are great too, would love to see the story branch out into a series for them, especially Sir Sean. Overall a great read, would definitely recommend.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 3, 2020This is a medieval romance that is well written, with the main characters well rounded and real. When I read a story and the story envelopes me in a way that I feel I am there as a participant then I know the story is well written. I prefer not to give the story line away and let each person enjoy that individually.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2020I loved this story! Once I started reading, I could not put it down. It had all the elements I love in a medieval story-Dashing Knights (Roran-swoon), feisty and lovable heroine (Brighid), adventure, and romance. I really liked the touches of light humor that Sir Sean added throughout the story. Definitely a must read.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 9, 2016Loved the story, written well, with minimal repetition ( that truly annoys me). The hero is hot, just as I like them, and the heroine feisty and strong willed, also as I enjoy. Even though it held a minimum of surprise, it is a perfect way to escape into a happily ever after. Nice job and I look forward to the next tale.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 3, 2020I really loved this book. The characters were brave and true to their hearts. I loved the strong female lead and loved how their HEA all came together!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good love story
This is a lovely story, I enjoyed the unfolding of who Brighid really is and how Ronan fought his feelings for her. This is one of those rare uncomplicated books that I enjoy. There doesn’t always need to have lots of angst to have a good read. Also I wish there was a follow up with Sean’s story
