About the Author

Somehow, after spending most of his life in the south, Ross Hightower found himself living in Milwaukee and loving it. One cold, snowy morning, not too long ago, he woke with a story stuck in his head. That wasn't unusual, but what happened next was unprecedented. He wrote it down. That small story grew into his first novel, Spirit Sight. Ross and Deb, his partner of 35 years, had so much fun talking about stories, they decided to write a prequel to Spirit Sight together. The result was the award-winning novel, Argren Blue. There will be many more books to come. Some might wonder why it took so long to find his calling in life, but Ross is just grateful he has.

    I received an advance copy of this book, but I'll be buying the next installment in this series. Hightower has written an epic fantasy tale with characters that resonate with modern readers. Magic, action, and great storytelling.

    In the epic saga Spirit Light, Ross Hightower has created a high-stakes tale filled with intrigue, action, and interesting characters—including strong, feisty women, always a favorite with me. Among the many players in this story are two central characters, Minna and Alyn—intelligent and powerful sisters charged with the formidable task of liberating their people from the Empire.

    I recommend reviewing and bookmarking the character list at the end to help stay on track. Even using this cheat sheet, I still got a bit confused now and then. However, the topnotch writing, masterful storytelling, and inventive world-building inspired me to give this one five stars.
