Chad Anctil hails from Rhode Island, the very birthplace of H.P. Lovecraft’s peculiar brand of fiction. His fascination with horror began at a young age, perhaps too young, but that’s how Generation X rolled. By day, Chad works in cybersecurity, but when the candlelight flickers, he writes. His debut novel, The Midnight Tree, explores a supernatural mystery with a nine year old boy and the ghost of the young girl haunting his bedroom. His urban fantasy crime series ‘Providence Supernatural Crimes Unit’ follows a secret team of police who fight supernatural crime and dark magical forces in Providence Rhode Island. Additionally, his horror, crime, and weird fiction short stories have found homes in various anthologies, including Abandoned Altars, Circus of the Dead, Flash of the Dead: Requiem, Blink of an Eye, Masks of Sanity, Wreckollections, Apocalyptales, Dead Girls Walking, For the Dogs, and Wicked Abandoned, among others.

Character driven storyline with depth while still being an enjoyable read. No spoilers but this is a great little ghost story.

This is a wonderful story of love and family told by a lonely young boy. But don’t expect the usual cast of characters!

The imagery that is drawn up within this first outing by the author is spellbinding. It's almost as if a first draft of a curse is being shared with the reader, because of the emotional connection you feel with young Tyler that you become invested with what happens next. I look forward to many more works from him, and I'm thankful for discovering his work in Wicked Press Anthologies
