Vera and the Victor: A SciFi Alien Romance (Alien Abduction Book 22) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 817 ratings

A grumpy alien warrior, a rebellious almost-professor, and an alien paradise...

One moment Vera is peacefully studying for her PhD in Ancient History, the next she is helping an alien race who look like fairies defeat the evil male who had her abducted. They need her help and she’s not about to back down, not even when a huge, grumpy gargoyle shows up on their island demanding their allegiance.

Grabon went looking for a mate. Instead he found a rebellion. When he’s sent to crush one last lingering group of rebels, he discovers their leader is a female - a too smart, too pretty, and too passionate human female. He knows humans are trouble, and yet he can’t seem to resist the annoying little female.

The temperature isn’t the only thing heating up in this alien paradise - but can there be possibly be a future for two people with such different goals?

Each book in the Alien Abduction series features a different couple and can be enjoyed as a standalone romance. Intended for mature readers.

USA Today bestselling author Honey Phillips writes steamy science fiction romance about hot alien warriors and the Earth women they can’t resist. From abductions to invasions, the ride might be rough, but the end always satisfies.

Honey wrote and illustrated her first book at the tender age of five. Her writing has improved since then. Her drawing skills, unfortunately, have not. She loves writing, reading, traveling, cooking, and drinking champagne - not necessarily in that order.

It’s an entertaining story with lots of action, along with aliens and a kidnapped human female. The story is well written with characters who are likable. I enjoyed the story especially the developing relationship between Grabon and Vera. It’s a story worth reading. The things you get into when you leave the pirate ship...right, Grabon? I loved his character from when we first met in Faith and the Fighter. When he had a brief appearance in the last book I got all kinds of hopeful. It's amazing what he has been up to in the mean time, but now he has Vera! She is a scholar (something most pirates seem to struggle with despite mating them left and right) who is trying to use her Earth knowledge to assist the native race of Elvar on the Farlain islands. There is a clash of science, fate, and the human spirit (or alien depending). Overall, lots of fun!

Grabon, is a gargoyle and we were introduced to him many a book ago on a pirate ship as well as in the last book. He knows how fierce , brave, intelligent and often tines dangerous humane females can be. While on a mission for King Cronan he finds Vera. His very own fierce, smart and dangerous human woman. Can he make her realize he's here to help her and the Elvar people or will he loose her when she finds out he's here on behalf of the new King? Vera Doctoral student in ancient history was alone and grading in her office one minute and then abducted by aliens the next. When she wakes she's being given to an evil lord with unkind intentions. Some how she's gets free and escapes Into the jungle where she meets the Elvar and vows to help them. Can Vera and Grabon help the Elvar? Will secrets tear their new found love apart? Or will love and forgiveness rule the day and give everyone the ending they deserve? You need to read and find out! Awesome Friday night read! Totally recommend💖🌟🔥🌟💖🔥💖🌟🔥🌟💖🔥🌟💖🔥🌟💖🔥💖🌟🔥🌟💖🔥🌟💖

This series is truly about meeting the true mate of an Aliens dream. They have the most romantic moments and each book is all about romance. From the very first book I read it’s like a compilation of every perfect male out there. Of course there has to be a bad guy in each book. I am always left wanting to read the next book. The characters are usually introduced and then you get their story soon after. This author knows how to keep your interest.

I love these books !!! I think what I like most, is that , yes, the characters go through hard times. But each and every story in this universe is connected , through their mates and also just being their human selves .
In this story , Vera has been abducted , and has awoken to some yucky alien male wanting her to do things she wasn't even remotely interested in doing .
Grabon has been sent by the new ruler of this civilization in order to spy . To see what is going in , and maybe get some information about the people in charge with the native population.
Boy does he get more then he Bargained for !!
As Vera and Grabon get to know each other better, this story certainly heats up !!!
Makes me excited for the next story in this series !!

Rinse and repeat story. I know it’s a part of a series but I just felt blah the entire time I was reading. I wanted something original. I know this author can and has done better so that’s why I’m giving it 3 stars. If you’re new to her work then it’s a cute little read and I hope you give some of her other works a try.

Vera was at school one minute and the next she wakes up with a strange alien trying to take advantage of her. She reaches for anything and hits him. She didn't mean to kill him. She runs to a village and they welcome her. Meanwhile, Grabon was doing surveillance and sees her. He knows she is his mate but doesn't think get deserves and doesn't have time. See what happens.

But it's a stand-alone story if you want to start with this one. I love Honey Phillips. Her stories are exciting. Her characters are interesting, and there's a compassion in her writing that lets the reader know how much she loves her characters.

This is a wonderful read. I like all the books in this series but this is one of my favorites.

Another book in a great series. I have enjoyed all of them and am afraid The next book will be the last. I’ll be sorry when that happens and hope maybe there will be some sort of spin-off. If you haven’t read any of these, they are well written, entertaining, with great characters and storylines.

I enjoyed another well written book in the Alien Abduction series. I enjoyed how Vera’s strength and determination and belief in doing the right things lead a great outcome for the Elvar and herself. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

The conflict isn't very developed, and the story suffers with a lack of sufficient world building.
Worse, the author almost literally writes "[white] savior complex," ironically, without realizing that's exactly what she creates in the FMC.
Vera is apparently prophesied to liberate an entire people and she doesn't really do anything.
The MMC isn't very likeable and is a departure from his behavior in the other books, but in a different unlikeable way.
I found myself skipping pages and uninterested in the epilogue.
