From the Author
What drove you to write The Descendants of Gods Trilogy?
I have always had a deep love for fantasy and sci-fi, whether in reading, writing, or film. I had intended to author these stories long ago, but as life tends to do, it got in the way. Whenever time allowed, I scribbled down plot lines on bits of paper scattered throughout various notepads, which I then gathered and stored in a box. Remarkably, upon finally retrieving everything, I discovered that I had amassed enough material to craft a trilogy of tales that begged to be shared.
What is unique about The Descendants of Gods Trilogy?
The Descendants of Gods Trilogy delves into the origins of our folklore, myths, and legends, examining how ancient circumstances shaped human history. It explores humanity's connection with the natural world, emphasizing the importance of cherishing it rather than exploiting it, all within a backdrop of thrilling adventure, fantasy, and science fiction.
Who would enjoy reading The Descendants of Gods?
This series is perfect for individuals of all ages who appreciate fantasy, historical intrigue, science fiction, adventure, and delving into our connection with the world we inhabit, as well as uncovering our forgotten past.
What aspects of the books do you like the most?
The integration of environmental conservation themes in the storyline was a deliberate choice to infuse the narrative with a sense of urgency and relevance. By exploring the intricate connections between power, nature, and humanity, I aimed to provoke reflection on our societal responsibilities towards the planet and the importance of preserving our natural world. Through the characters' journeys and choices, I hoped to highlight the delicate balance between progress and conservation, encouraging readers to contemplate their own impact on the environment and the broader ecosystem. Ultimately, "Raindrops of the Gods" emerged as a multidimensional work that sought to entertain, educate, and provoke thought on our place in the cosmos and our relationship with the world around us.

I can’t wait to see who plays this amazing array of characters in the movie series! If anyone in Hollywood has any sense, they will be getting movie rights to this one. Twilight. Hunger Games. Raindrops of the Gods!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 29, 2024Author R. M. Alwyn has brought us a potential masterpiece in “Raindrops of the Gods”—with its truly great storyline, characters, and world creation both then and now, here and out there. I love the blending of science fiction, alien shapeshifters, and ancient mysteries with kids and folks from today.
For me, though, the writing is overdone, especially for a young adult book, and it needs editing (to tone it down to a level that flows better) and proofing. I used to work in publishing so I’m extra fussy about this. Once all that’s done, it’ll be a major contender.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 23, 2024I read this book in a single day—it was hard to put down! The characters are introduced in a captivating way, and I loved how the author seamlessly weaves folklore and mythology from around the world with historical context. The story of Ancient Alien shapeshifters and their ancestors battling for control of a mysterious sphere is truly riveting.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 7, 2024A very captivating book that makes us reflect on where we originally came from. This story of aliens is filled with hidden secrets, a battle between good and evil, and a struggle for control. I enjoyed it quite a bit.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2024Great book! Go Quad Squad! It’s been many years since I’ve finished a book but I was fully invested in how all the intriguing characters would come together. I thoroughly enjoyed the familiar worldwide locations and reflected on my own understanding of the ancient history of earth! Looking forward to the next in this series.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 6, 2024I thought the concept was VERY interesting and I like the kid's characters. It was a bit confusing though. The book starts with well written and interesting vignettes of the various aliens (who are not the main characters) however, a few of them are main antagonists. I kept wondering who are these people and are any of them the main character? nope. It was difficult to keep their names and info in my head as I tried to figure out when the kids from the blurb would enter the story. About 1/3 of the way into the book we finally meet the kids. About 1/2 way through the book THEY meet. After they meet the story is sort of two dimensional and feels rushed. (There is only about 50 pages having to do with the main characters.) I wanted to love this book. I think if the author edited it better, maybe put the kids front and center and then used his vignettes to flesh out the secondary characters after you meet them I would have liked it better. It felt like he wrote the vignettes and then came up with a concept to use them in a book and added the kids as a means to an end.
