"Through My Eyes" by Josephine Saunders is a delightful anthology that draws you in with its imaginative range and skillful storytelling. Each story offers a unique perspective, making it perfect for readers who love variety and depth. From heartwarming tales to thought-provoking narratives, Saunders has created a collection that feels like a literary “Pick & Mix” – there’s something for everyone. I was particularly captivated by the title story, Through My Eyes, where a painting narrates its poignant view of the world, and With This Ring, a powerful tale of love and reincarnation set in the 14th century. And , of course, He Who Laughs Last, an engaging story of rivalry between twin brothers with unforgettable pranks? This book is perfect for short escapes and offers a little magic and insight with every page. A must-read for short story lovers!

Jos Saunders "Through My Eyes" is a sampler of different genres, styles, and stories, each of which seems perfectly crafted for reading when you don't have much time. The poetry and flash fiction genres give the reader a nice sense of completion at the end of the day. Or whenever you may read these. You'll want to put it in your backpack or purse for train trips, plane trips, or any other setting when you have time on your hand and want something just thoughtful enough to make you think but not so dense that you can't finish it in one sitting. Highly recommended.

I really enjoyed each of these stories and definitely a great read with an eclectic range. My favorites were Abandoned, Getting Happy, and Your Roots. The author certainly put thought into each story and I look forward to reading more in the future. Well done.

I enjoyed reading this book. Since it was a collection of short stories, I always like to see different types of stories that are told. Since there were a few of the stories that I thoroughly enjoyed, I can go back to this again at a later date and not have to read an entire book.

I loved picking this book from time to time knowing I would enjoy several engaging stories in one setting. Stories of various genres that packed a punch in just a few pages. I truly admire this author’s ability to grab my attention immediately and take me on a journey, short, but so rich in content, it stayed with long after. The Getting Happy section of stories had me laughing with their deviously cleaver plots. Artfully done. A delightful read. Don’t miss this literary treat!

A thoroughly entertaining anthology of short stories of love, marriage, and life and all the bliss and messiness they entail.
Some are a few pages long and others are mere bits, but they all contain meaningful messages that are sure to elicit an emotional response. Each can be read in about 30 minutes or less, so this book is a wonderful way to disconnect from your world for even short periods of personal time.
The stories are a mix of genres so there is something to delight everyone’s taste, from light-hearted to thought-provoking.

This reader found the bite-size stories emotional, surprising and full of twisty-turns and plots twists.

A fan of emotional tales with plot twists, my favorite, Through My Eyes delivers an emotionally-charged story of an empathetic artist. Millionaire Maker, Train of Thought and Years On offer surprising endings. I love the creative internal thinking throughout Train of Thought.

Writing microfiction is difficult due to the short length of each story. Jos Saunders made every word count while adding interesting dialogue, mixed with imagination and great plot twists to the stories.

I enjoyed this creative work and heartily recommend it.

What a fun collection of short stories in a mix bag of genres! Even the romance ones (normally not a fan of the genre) were fun to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for Dibbing in and out of

This anthology is like a sweetshop Pick &Mix counter and offers an impressive range of stories. Some of them have a satisfying twist and others carry a lot of emotional depth, but they all leave you with something to think about. From moments of poignant reflection to bursts of wit, they have crafted narratives perfect for escaping into a book for five minutes without investing in an entire novel. Spot on, for work commuters to read on trains and buses, or to keep beside the bed for a quick dib-in read. The variety gives us something to suit every reader, from light-hearted fun to thought-provoking life situations.

My favourite story in the collection was He Who Laughs Last. I connected with the characters and found their dynamics compelling enough to carry an entire novel. With a talent for creating vivid and relatable characters that linger after the story ends, this book has a mix of wit and tension, making it stand out as an engaging anthology.

A wonderful selection of bite sized short stories and poems. My favourites Through my eyes, With This Ring and He Who Laughs Last. I read this in my spare time. There are plenty of wonderful short stories and poems that can be read when you have a spare 30 mins. I'm a huge fan of this author and would recommend this wonderful book.

Get a cup of tea and settle down with this book for a few stories, suggests the author in her blurb. Some indeed go well with tea, for others a whisky is more suitable or perhaps absinthe.
A nice little collection and a lot of fun to read. Pour me another whisky.
