About the authors
Jennifer Haskin is passionate about helping new authors with their writing journey, as well as achieving their publishing goals. Eight years ago, she learned the ropes of the publishing world as a literary agent for a boutique agency before moving to a New York-based agency (then had to drop out for a string of back surgeries), then she returned as a publishing consultant, helping authors ready their submission materials to get the best shot at the contract of their dreams, and now she works as a professional Reedsy editor, Associate Editor for a small press, and head editor of her own business.
Jennifer debuted as a traditionally published author, but she prefers the control of indie publishing. She markets her YA scifi/fantasy/romance fiction novels and non-fiction series "The Journey to a Bestseller" and is always writing a new series. Her website features a blog that's been called "a hidden gold mine of information" for new authors that documents some of her own writing journey with weekly advice on writing, editing, publishing, and marketing. She's been on all sides of the publishing business. She runs a weekly writers' workshop and is honored to be a judge for the annual writing contest Ink & Insights. Come find her on social media and say hi @haskinauthor.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 13, 2024I was searching for a guide for self-publishing at AMZ. This book by J.N. Haskin's came to my eyes. This guide is well-written and methodically explained step by step for first-time authors publishing on AMZ. I fell in love, went through this book, and found it most useful for authors like me, planning to self-publish my memoirs. I have nothing but a big thank you to author Ms. Haskin. This came at the right time for me. No hesitation in recommending this book to first-time publishing authors.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 12, 2023J.N. Haskin's book is an excellent guide whether you are considering self-publishing or simply seeking guidance for marketing as a traditionally published author. The book is grounded with practical information and a conversational style. You feel that the author is actually sitting beside you and your computer/latest completed writing project guiding you through the next steps in the publishing process. She goes through absolutely every step, including how to select the most marketable book title, subtitles, cover image and how to make the back cover blurb strong. I highly recommend this book for anyone who is looking to take their writing career to the next level.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 10, 2023I'm so happy Jennifer Haskin has written this book! After taking her online course of learning how to publish a top-ranking indie book, I felt prepared to publish my first book. Jennifer has broken down an elephant-sized beast of the publishing world on Amazon into simple bite-sized pieces that anyone can follow. You'll have had a chance to see all the questions Amazon needs answered BEFORE you begin. Keywords, categories, cream or white paper, to formatting. It's all in this concise, easy to read book. I highly recommend this manual and will be using it as a must-use-guide when I teach my own book writing classes.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 15, 2023The Hinson Boys of St. John's Street was published on July 25, 2023. I did not have 'How To' publish at that time; but learned the hard way!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great resource for those new to self publishing
Even though I have a book designer who is going to also upload my series, I need to provide metadata, pricing & choices before publication. This book has really helped me to begin to consider in depth and organise that information. For those who will upload themselves I’d say it’s even more important to get this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars useful and practical
Very useful and practical book full of ready-to-follow step-by-step plans.
The only thing I do not like about the book is the cover: it's very ugly, let's be honest about that.
Apart from the cover, I like every page. Not pretty, but very handy. I will use the information I got from reading it in publishing my international book series to learn languages here on Amazon!
