Jan believes the real world is much smaller than it should be, so she writes fantasy.

Her exhausted parents were happy all their fifth child wanted to do was create elaborate stories involving a pretend cattle ranch guarded by vegetarian dinosaurs and go on adventures with her stuffed teddy bear, creatively named Ted. She had the freedom to let her imagination run wild, and the savvy six-year-old took full advantage of it.

After winning the high school senior class title of 'wittiest' and getting out of college in four years (both equally astounding feats) she began her 30+ year career in advertising and marketing. Extensive work travel allowed her to indulge in her reading habit. It also sparked her first series idea: Rock, Paper, Scissors. A Young Adult Urban Fantasy which takes place in an alternate United States. All 4 books are chock full of action, a bit of snark and a hint of romance.

Now a full-time writer, she lives in her hometown of New Orleans. The city is its own character in the 22 book paranormal romance books she's presently writing. It features a variety of Supernatural creatures: Shifters, Weres, Vampires, Witches & the Fae. An enchanted deck of tarot cards adds a unique twist to the interwoven storylines of her G.R.I.T.S. series.

All Jan Mau Hill's books are fast-paced reads featuring smart and feisty heroines. If you like that sorta thing, these books are for you.

    Just a quick review for one of my favorite authors. This time the story is about a werecat named Amanda who had to live undercover for years because her ex, a warlock, nearly killed her. After years of PTSD, she selects a card from the enchanted tarot deck that has been featured in every book in the series so far. This time, it's Judgment.

    With the help of this new spirit, Amanda reenters the world, this time helping her sister with her real estate business. But this is New Orleans, and wouldn't you know it, at her first open house, a body is found floating face down in the water feature. Through this murder mystery, Amanda meets up with her ex-ex (the one before the warlock) and by working on the case together, they rekindle a love long suppressed. But can forced proximity heal two unhealed hearts?

    I love how these books involve a whole supernatural community including characters from past and (hopefully) future novels in the series, but they all end in a sweet, funny love story. Besides, you have to laugh at such flights of fancy as the spirit of Judge Judy and a dwarf rabbit named Mr. Sparkles. Keep it coming!

    Another fabulous book in Jan Mau Hill’s unique series. This time it’s Amanda’s story and what a one it is. My favorite part are the interactions with the feral cats - I love this series and this author.

    I had no idea what to expect as I had not read anything from this author, but this was surprising. I really enjoyed it. It's a good, fun, fast read; good for an afternoon curled up on the couch. This adds in a side of paranormal to keep it interesting, as I'm not one for just a plain ol' romance story. Of course, this is the story of a second chance at romance but still. I am definitely going back and starting with the first book.

    Amanda Privet has come a long way from the four years she hid from view as Manda the cat. Now, with the help of her inner cat (also named Manda), a Judge Judy, and the determination to fight her innermost fears, Amanda uses her detective skills to help handsome ex, Brian, uncover who murdered a local worker and at the same time to build her confidence to tackle anything her paranormal community throw her way. Despite having to temporarily resume her cat persona, heading off some pretty quarrelsome vampires, and being a part of her bestie, Lexi's, wedding party, Amanda has slowly built the courage needed to decide what she really wants for a life after PTSD. Full of charismatic characters, sweet romantic interludes, and fast action, this newest addition will delight fans of G.R.I.T.S., Love and the Paranormal series.

    Unhealed is a fast-paced fun story. Amanda was emotionally wounded and is recovering. Her ex-fiancé, Brian, is trying to reconnect with her. When Amanda finds a dead body, Brian and his family need her help to solve the crime.

    Amanda's trauma is very realistic, as is her reaction to triggers that bring back memories. Both Amanda and Brian have concessions to make before they can get back together. I like that although they still love each other, they are willing to work through their misconceptions and problems before they are a couple again.

    The tension holds throughout the story and the sweet romance made me smile. I recommend reading Unhealed.

    I love how Jan Mau Hill is introducing so many unique story arcs in her GRITS series! Amanda's story is so intense and the perfect balance between intrigue and romance. Best of all, she and Brian reaffirm their love and devotion on Valentine's Day ❤️ So much fun... I can't wait for the next book to be released.

    In this intriguing addition to the Tarot Card series of paranormal romances, we discover Amanda’s secrets and watch as she heals from past trauma with the help of Manda, her were-cat and Judy, her internal non-corporal spirit. We join the supernatural community of New Orleans as they pull together to solve a mystery that affects many of their own. A fun read that makes me look forward to the next book in the series. I've enjoyed every one and they seem to get even better with each release.
