1.0 out of 5 stars 1 rating

THE UNION SCREAMING HOUSE NIGHTMARE CONTINUES.....

The terrifying special sequel to the classic true horror book, The Uninvited by Steven LaChance, now in a Special Edition, including the unprecedented report on the case by the Roman Catholic Church. The haunting was classified as a demonic infestation, oppression and possession,

Living with a paranormal storm looming on the horizon, constantly feeling the darkness trying to penetrate his soul, Steven LaChance has discovered that the aftershocks of the demonic can be more dangerous than the initial haunting itself. Marked by the supernatural trauma inflicted by the Union Screaming House―as chronicled in his classic first book, The Uninvited―Steven and his family find that no matter where they move, no matter what they do, they are still vulnerable to otherworldly attacks.

As malevolent forces continue their relentless assaults, Steven and his close-knit community fight for their sanity and their lives. Blessed Are the Wicked is one man's account of the repressed horror and pain that nearly tore his world apart and the power of healing he found on the other side of the supernatural storm.

"What the Lachance family encountered in their Union, Missouri home will give you chills." -Fate Magazine

Having really enjoyed the first book, I rushed to buy this as soon as it was available. Despite my curiosity and interest in the Union Screaming House case, I found this book to be rather dissapointing. The way it's written makes it feel as though the author is dumping all his personal history and dirty laundry out (a fact he admits to several times) and trying to make desperate connections between seemingly unrelated events or topics. There are also several repeated statements that don't really work to create emphasis, but do make it sound slightly whiney. On a side note, there are a great many number of spelling and grammatical errors, which makes this feel a little rushed and sloppy. I wanted to see where this case went and how it has effected the authors life today, but in the end it all just feels a little too stretched out with too many assumptions that everything bad that happens is because of ghosts and demons. If I ever meet the author in the future, first thing I'm doing is asking for my $13 back. That's how ripped off I feel.
