    Let me start by saying I’ve read the first two books in this series and I absolutely loved them. This third one was good but I didn’t love it like the other two. Camila IMO, wasn’t a strong heroine like Catalina and Mia. I realize she’s only 20 years old, but I was hoping the author would write her a little more mature. To me she sometimes came across a little whiny and immature. I just found myself not connecting with Camila. Also for someone who was marrying an underboss, she should’ve had a more tougher exterior. I felt Dante’s and Camila’s story was a bit rushed and could have used more of a development.

    Overall Bound By A Promise was a good read. It held my attention and was a quick read. But I just wish there was more relationship development and I could’ve felt the chemistry between the two a bit more. Plus their story felt rushed. I look forward to the next story in this series which I think might be Rei and Jasmine.

    This is the third book in this series for Brutal Vows. This book had me hooked immediately. I love how this book didn’t have the normal arranged marriage. This one has a twist with a secret elopement. I loved it! Camilla and Dante were originally promised to each other. Then Camilla’s father picks a different groom. So with the help of a few family members they elope. Chaos hits within the mafia/cartel world which takes the spotlight off of them. The family eventually supports the marriage and they work together to take down the bad guys. Great book!!

Camila Ruiz is the daughter of the top lieutenant in the Roriguez cartel. There attraction knows no bounds. They only kissed, but by the second time they found to steal a moment he asked for her hand in marriage in a world of arranged marriages, because she’s an independent woman. He took the steps into securing the marriage with the capos and her father, even though he’s so much older than she is, but there was another alliance secured with someone who showed interest in her from the cartel. He promised Camila to fix it. In the meantime they are having problems with the Bratva interfering in their territory, and a traitor on top of that. I highly recommend this book and this whole series. It pulls you in and you won’t be able to put it down.
