    What a thrilling and emotional ride! The mix of mystery, crime, and romance was executed perfectly. Karen is such a strong protagonist, and her chemistry with Mike was both frustrating and heartwarming in the best way possible. The hospital scene had my heart pounding I couldn’t put the book down!     Out For Justice blends two of my favorite genres, romance and mystery. It follows Karen Sykes, a new detective, who is working her first homicide case: a young boy. There is a second case, a John Doe, who's murder might be linked to the boy. The characters are engaging, and the ending is thrilling. 5/5 stars

    After a four year old is murdered, the investigation begins. There are two lead detectives. Karen Sykes is new to the homicide division but her partner, Sam Anderson is a seasoned detective. Karen wants to prove herself. She keeps remembering her sister when she was abducted and murdered. She knows she has a lot to learn. She is bound and determined to find the little one's killer.

    Some of the most important clues as to who the killer is comes from the Crime Scene Techs Susan Parker and Mike Connelly.

    Kelly and Mark Hunt are the grieving parents. The mother is very upset and the father is on the defense.
    The author shows the mother's point of view throughout the book. The author brings forth that Kelly had been a domestic abuse victim. Friends and neighbors and even strangers offer to pay for the funeral and help out the family. Mark, the father, jumps at the offers, but not for the funeral or the family, but for himself.

    He had spent years beating his wife while their two daughters watched. Kelly made a wise decision when she left her husband and went to a shelter. The author, Ms. Taylor didn't for a minute leave any clues as to the killer.I liked this book but the romance didn't seem right for this book. The book was very well written with characters that were described as strong real women in real situations. Some sensitive issues were brought forth. I thought the way she gives the reader some of the harsh realities of life makes the book more interesting. Sometimes we hide from reality when it becomes too real. At times you may want to put the book away because you begin to feel for the characters. This book is extremely good. We sometimes need a wake up to put us back to reality.

    When you are ready for a great murder mystery, buy this book, pull up your favorite reading chair and get ready. And if you can, allow for enough time to read it in one sitting as you are not going to want to put it down! The details are exquisite and draw you into the story.     Can a rookie homicide detective and a hardened crime scene technician fall in love during the investigation of a little boy's murder? You bet they can! "Out For Justice" really delivers on the romance and the suspense. A very satisfying read. Highly recommended.

    After the murder of a four year old we get to experience the investigation from all sides.

    The two lead homicide detectives - New to the homicide division Karen Sykes and her seasoned partner Sam Anderson. As this is Karen's first homicide she wants to prove herself. Even though she is eager she still knows she has a lot to learn from her partner. She also struggles to keep her past out of her head during the investigation as her sister had also been abducted and murdered when they were kids and she carries a lot of grief from that which spurs her on to make sure they find the killer.

    The Crime Scene Techs Susan Parker and Mike Connelly. Their primary responsibilities are to collect evidence, analyze data in lab settings, and present findings in both written and oral reports. They play big parts in figuring out exactly what happened. It's through their collected evidence, running tests and analyzing that some of the biggest clues as to who the killer could be are found.

    The grieving parents Kelly and Mark Hunt. When we first meet them them Kelly is visibly upset and Mark is very defensive. The author gives us Kelly's POV through out the book and we find out she is a domestic violence victim. The author didn't pull any punches here. We see the abuse. We see how Mark takes advantage of the kindness of strangers who offer to pay for a funeral and to help out the family financially instead use the money for himself. We also see how years of seeing there mother being beat has effect her two daughters. We get to follow Kelly as she finally makes the decision to leave her husband on go to a private women's shelter.

    The Killer The author did a good job of fooling us on who the killer was.

    As a police procedure book I though this was very well written. My only reason for taking a star away was the romance. It didn't fit in with the book.

    I couldn't read this book. I just can't handle books about dead children. I started to read it and it was wonderfully written and had great descriptions, but I just couldn't keep going with it once the little boy died.
