Alice Walker and her six-year-old son are on the run. She knows they need to keep a low profile as it’s only a matter of time before her past catches up with her.
When her car breaks down in the middle of a snowstorm, she and Dillon have no alternative but to hide in a stranger’s garage. It’s either that or freeze to death.
Will this stranger be her saving grace or has she put herself and her son in further danger?
After reflecting on his life, Callum Summer has concluded that he’s ready to settle down and start a family. However, he needs to find a woman first. Not that he’s short of female attention, but the right one hasn’t come along yet.
When he finds a young woman and her son hiding in his garage, he knows she’s the one. His dog Storm knows it too.
Can he commit to Alice and Dillon? Be the one to put them first above all? He’ll try.
He knows Alice hasn’t had an easy life. He also knows she’s hiding something but is reluctant to tell him.
Will she come clean before her past threatens the life she’s come to love?

Tracey Gerrard was born, raised and still lives in Leeds, West Yorkshire England. She has worked as a learning support assistant since 2005. At the age of forty-seven and being an avid reader of romance literature, she set herself a challenge to write a novel. When We Dance (Ain’t Nobody Series Book 1) had taken her two and half years to write, finishing it October 2018. Early 2019 and half way through When We Hurt (Ain’t Nobody Series Book 2) she decided it was time to have her first book published.

Since having WHEN WE Dance published in March 2019 and WHEN WE HURT in JULY 2019, she has now had her third book WHEN WE LOVE published in June of this year.

When she’s not at work or spending time with her family you can find her sat at her laptop typing up ideas for a next book or reading a good romance novel.

Heart-Pounding Suspense Meets Swoon-Worthy Romance

Heart-Pounding Suspense Meets Swoon-Worthy Romance
I LOVED Let Me, so you can imagine my delight at discovering the return of Tracey Gerrard’s signature blend of heart-pounding tension and heartfelt love in Saving Them. Running for their lives, Alice Walker and her six-year-old son, Dillon, seek refuge in a stranger’s garage. Enter Callum Summer, a man who has everything except the family he longs for. That changes when his dog, Storm, discovers them. The attraction between Callum and Alice sizzles from the get-go, but Alice’s secrets threaten their relationship, and Callum must decide how far he will go to protect them. Gerrard’s tale of survival, trust, and the healing power of love delivers heartwarming moments and gripping suspense. Callum is my kind of hero - strong, protective, yet patient and kind. Alice is resilient, and Dillon steals every scene he’s in. Add Storm, the ever-loyal canine protector, and you feel like you’re among family. I devoured this delicious book in one sitting. If you love romantic suspense with deep emotional stakes, you will, too! Saving Them has made me hungry for more from this fabulous author!

While I have not read the first one yet, the sequel did get me hooked. It starts off sad when Alice and her son are fleeing and hiding in a garage, but when Callum comes into the picture, things start to take a turn. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a sad, but beautiful romantic story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Is it as easy as that?

A nice easy read with all the ingredients for a romance – woman running away with her son from abuse – found by a kind man – and we're on our way to a budding romance...but is it as easy as that?

You’ll know if you get the book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Romance on the Run
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on January 24, 2025
It's snowing, there's a power cut and younger brother Connor needs a lift. It's lucky that Callum Summer is an even-tempered man, given that he has to open the electric garage doors manually to drive through the snow to collect his feckless younger brother  - and of course he leaves the garage door open, because it'd be a hassle to close it.

Cue orphan of the storm Alice, and her young son Dillon, seeking shelter from the weather on account of their car having broken down. The garage means a roof over their heads, the ageing camper van inside it a place to rest their aching--and bruised, in Alice's case--skin and bones.

When Callum discovers his uninvited guests, his generous and gentlemanly nature kicks in, and soon he's offering them more solid shelter. Relationships are formed, not the least between Dillon and Storm, Callum's German Shepherd--but the attraction between Alice and Callum is of a bit more than the faithful friend variety. It's clear that the mother and child are escaping from something, and under Callum's gentle influence she begins to open up---but she's holding back something which could put her new-found protector in danger.

Once again author Tracey Gerrard provides a knight in shining armour to rescue the abused damsel in distress and her child - so that's Kane and Callum sorted. There are still three of the brothers waiting in line, however, and I note that brother Mason has his eye on a waitress named Kat. Could they be about to serve up the next slice of the love lives of the Summer brothers? And after that, there's still Connor and Henry ...

Fans of Romance will love it.

Tracey Gerrard has pulled it out of the bag again!
This is the second book in the summer Knights series which follows the fortunes of the extremely handsome Knight brothers.
This book focuses on Callum Knight who comes to the rescue of Alice and her young son who are fleeing for their lives.
It’s a beautifully written romance with all the feel good factors.
I read this in one sitting and souls highly recommend it to anyone who is a fan of romance!

Saving Them is the second book in the Summer Knights series and it revolves around Callum Summer.
A heavy snowfall sees Alice and her young son, who are on the run, having to take shelter in an open garage after her car breaks down.
Callum’s ex-police dog, Storm, knows there is someone hiding and when Callum goes to investigate, he finds Alice and decides to help her.
The attraction between Callum and Alice is so real but she’s a stranger with a possibly dodgy past and she’s worried it might catch up with her.
This is an excellent second book in the series and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. It's one you won’t want to put down until the last page.

This is a well written easy to read, love story, with family, friendships, emotions, secrets, humour, witty banter (all you’d expect from 5 brothers) sizzling tension, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, heartfelt, and heartwarming romance.

I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
