I love writing. Whether it is contemporary cowboy romance or historical fiction set in my beloved state of Arizona, my novels always tell an engaging story of flawed characters in needed of second chances, redemption, or they must overcome personal trials. I love finding ways to weave real history and real settings into my stories.

My husband, Jim, and I live in Gilbert, Arizona with our two dogs, Bella and Daisy. We enjoy traveling throughout the state finding new adventures which often end up influencing the stories I write. We also are very active at Rock Point Church in Queen Creek, Arizona.

KB writes of The Times of great upheaval in the southwestern part of the future U.S. The Indian Wars kept every settler off balance. That plus the dishonest whites who constantly stirred
pot to make money from the Indians and settlers by robbery, murder and the sale of guns and liquor. This is easy good read of a wild and wooly time in the west.....ER

I think things unfolding the way they did was just the right way. All people have past mistakes be they big or tiny, not one of us is perfect. It's what we do about those mistakes that is important.

Of course each of them, Paul and Millie should have told one another everything at the beginning of the relationship, however I understand that suspense is what keeps the readers attention.

I would have accepted Annabelle too, it wasn't her fault others used her! Unfortunately there are those who would have shunned her just because they are pious people. Those who truly love God and people would have taken her or anyone like her in.

As far as Paul's mother and Millie's father, maybe they both were controlling to a degree more than they should have, however it was very apparent they loved their children. And I believe they really helped Shape Paul and Millie into the good people they became.

The one thing I was outraged at was the unchristian, cruel way Jake and the army treated the Indian women and children, it was disgraceful that they were killed and burned just for being Indians! I believe the Indians have been unjustly treated by the white race. It makes me ashamed of being white! Indians were here first and we took their land instead of trying to learn to live with them and understand them. May God forgive us!

Had read the series this is set from. Both husband and I were upset that there was a big cliff hanger of several things about those guilty not getting caught, punished, or being out things they had done to Paul, and no mention of a next book.
It was a touching story. Held our interest completely. Others have given a run down of what it was about so I won't do that.
Even so it will not ruin the story that some major things were not settled.

Yet another book I am not going to finish but will leave at three stars. While the author had talent and and the story and characters were interesting. I also have to give credit that this was some originality to the story.

However, I A) didn't like the language that popped up (mild but I just personally don't like it in my books) and B) I thought the romance was on the lustful side of things, especially for two people that seemed to have a very strong faith.

The faith of the characters was a plus to this story and one of the reasons I kept reading for so long. I would be willing to try another book by Baney simply because her main characters, for the most part, seemed to be living out their faith.

I really liked this story. It kept my attention and made me want to read it through. I didn't, however, like the fact that there was a curse word in the book. I think that should have been left out.

What a great read. Two people from difference walks of life meet in a town of long ago. They were voted the least likely to marry. While they both have secrets from their pasts will they be able to work through them?
Before they are married, Paul saves a young girl from a brothel of working young girls. She is only 9 or 10 years old. Her parents were killed in a savage attack by what was suggested to be Indians; but others thought differently.
Paul adopts the young girl without Millies' knowledge and he brings her home surprisingly, and tells Millie she now has a daughter. But he also tells her he will raise her by himself if need be. Millie thinks about his comments carefully.
After the physical attacks from Jake, which Millie believes caused the loss of her best friends baby and now a young girl is sprung on her; is it too much for Millie to endure? Will she stay or will she move on? What would you do?

I thought the patience she allowed the love to grow and the time it took both of them to realize God had forgiven them. Now it was up to them to forgive themselves.
She let them grow as two becoming one. The story played out so close to history and what the settlers and Indians had to live through.
    I loved it.

Beautiful Christian love story! This story brings out the ugliness, devastation that prejudice has in the lives of those involved.
