Can't Get No Satyrfaction: A Cozy Monster Romance Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 371 ratings

He’s got hooves, horns, and a bad attitude. She’s got a camera and a knack for trouble. What could possibly go wrong?

Sylvie has always been a hopeless optimist, but even she didn’t expect her latest adventure photographing the mysterious Elderwood Forest would end with her being rescued—albeit reluctantly—by a grumpy, sharp-tongued satyr. Big, brooding, and undeniably magnetic, Thorn is as prickly as the plant for which he’s named.

Thorn has spent years guarding his beloved forest from the humans he despises. When a pretty, bubbly human stumbles into his world he's determined to send her packing, but Sylvie’s knack for attracting trouble is rivaled only by her ability to melt the walls around his heart.

When Sylvie and Thorn are forced to team up to protect the forest, the chemistry between them is impossible to deny. But as danger looms closer, Thorn must decide if he will push Sylvie away to protect her—or risk it all for the chance of love. Because even in the depths of the Elderwood Forest, love can be wild, exhilarating, and sweeter than a satyr with an unexpected taste for stolen kisses.

This sweet and steamy monster romance is intended for mature readers. This book is part of the Mated to the Monster multi-author monster romance series. All books can be read as standalone stories.

USA Today bestselling author Honey Phillips writes steamy science fiction romance about hot alien warriors and the Earth women they can’t resist. From abductions to invasions, the ride might be rough, but the end always satisfies.

Honey wrote and illustrated her first book at the tender age of five. Her writing has improved since then. Her drawing skills, unfortunately, have not. She loves writing, reading, traveling, cooking, and drinking champagne - not necessarily in that order.

This was the perfect cozy night in type of book. It made me smile, laugh and .are my heart hurt a couple if times. Honey Phillips knows how to write a book filled with characters you can't help but love. Sylvie is a beautiful soul who has a love of nature a d photography. He mother gave her that love and it bow she connects and remembers her. She wins a contest that gives her permission to enter the enchanted wood to take more pictures. Never has she been more excited or happy that is until she meets Thorn the Saytr guardian of the woods. He's grumpy, has mile high walls around his heart but can't seem to care about his tragic past when Sylvie smiles or looks at his forest with awe. Can't Thorn get past his distrust of humans and realize how much Sylvie heals his heart or will he give up the best thing that's ever happened too him? You must read and find out this is so wonderfully written with fantastic characters and great world building! Highly recommend💖🌟🔥🌟🔥🌟🔥🌟🔥🌟🔥🌟🔥🌟🔥🌟🔥🌟🔥🌟🔥🌟🔥🌟🌟💖🌟🔥🌟🔥🌟💖🌟🔥🌟

An optimist with a camera runs into a grumpy satyr and has the adventure of a lifetime. Just imagine an ancient forest brimming with magic and otherworldly creatures just waiting to be captured on film. This is a true HEA.

I loved this story. Sylvie, was a sweet , gentle soul, who was born to be in the enchanted forest world. Thorn who we briefly met in a previous story, had sworn to always hate, and mistrust humans. He finds that he has to fight his anger, and hatred after finding out the photographer given special permission to enter his wold is a small, gentle woman. His Three headed Cerabis hound is instantly in love, and devoted to Sylvie. There is a battle in Thorns mind to make her leave, or keep, and claim her, as his mate. After a tension filled story, of regret, and regaining hope for a future, Ms. Phillips gives us a lovely HEA ending.

Only one thing bugged me, or maybe I overlooked the explanation reading too fast. The H in this story was a Satyr, his nephew Marsh that he mentions, and his sister, were dryad tree people in their book(Mated to the Swamp Monster), very different creatures. If the H and his sister were full siblings, wouldn't they be the same creatures?
Other than that, it was, as usual for Honey Phillips, a good, well developed story.

I used to go walking in the (unenchanted as far as I knew) woods when I was younger. I don't think I would have been nearly as cool-headed by the things that Sylvie saw. Though, to be fair, she at least knew the woods were magic! In true Honey Phillips fashion, she made it seem really possible that this world could exist (can it? please?). Thorn sounds absolutely hunky and I personally would love to have a three-headed guard dog. Was the nickname Fluffy a Harry Potter nod? As is true for every Honey book I've read, I loved it!

I liked the two characters except Sylvie’s eternal smile and never-ended talking was getting on my nerves. I know it’s a novella but I'd like a little more angst in the story. I really enjoyed Elderwood forest and all of its secrets. Honey did a fine job describing the forest.

Have read every Honey Phillips book I've come across or searched for. I love them, and this one is another burster (that's a good thing, in case you don't get the Aussie slang).

Sweet, spicy with lots of grump and humor. Loved the cerberus who responds to Sylvie calling him 'Fluffy' demanding ear scratches and belly rubs, much to the dismay of the grumpy satyr. Hilarious! A dilightful way to spend a couple of hours captured in an entertaining love story. Honey's attention to detail always paints a very vivid picture and adds depth to her characters.
