Whitney & Freddy: a Boyfriend Dilemma Kindle Edition
—"Whitney and Freddy is a delightful read! The sweet, innocent romance of earlier times has deep, heartwarming characters that you’ll fall in love with."
—"How do you deal with a bully? How do you make new friends, or say goodbye to the ones you leave behind? How do you land your first job and still have time for extra-curricular activities?"
Whitney is a boy magnet, and the comments mortify her. After her father’s sudden death, she finds herself in a new high school in California. She wants a first kiss and thinks Freddy might be the one she wants to share it with.
Freddy is crazy about Whitney. She’s funny and pretty but out of his league. And what would she think if she knew he punched his drunk dad, knocking him to the floor, to protect his mom?
Then Freddy is asked to play for the Christmas musical, and the stage is set. Whitney has the lead.
When Whitney and Freddy begin tentatively dating, can they rescue each other from their greatest fears?

About the author

George writes wholesome books. He grew up in Southern California and lives in Northern California, in an old stone house. He spent his life teaching elementary school and loved to teach kids to write. 𝑀𝑒𝑚𝑏𝑒𝑟𝑠 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝐶𝑎𝑠𝑡 was started in 1975, but was put aside for years. George's creativity didn't stop, and for almost 30 years, he programmed, marketed, and supported grade book software for elementary teachers. 𝑃𝑎𝑟𝑡𝑤𝑎𝑦 𝑡𝑜 𝑊𝑜𝑙𝑓𝑠𝑘𝑖𝑙𝑙 is a chapbook of poems about the canyon in which the novel, 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑆ℎ𝑖𝑝 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑚 𝑊𝑜𝑙𝑓𝑠𝑘𝑖𝑙𝑙, takes place. 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑆ℎ𝑖𝑝 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑚 𝑊𝑜𝑙𝑓𝑠𝑘𝑖𝑙𝑙 is the first book of the Wolfskill Trilogy. Book 2, 𝐴𝑖𝑟𝑠ℎ𝑖𝑝𝑠 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑚 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑁𝑜𝑟𝑡ℎ, available now. You can learn more about George and a Family of Writers here: HTTP://graestonewriter.com

- Reviewed in the United States on April 2, 2025I absolutely enjoyed my time spent with Whitney and Freddy! And would recommend this book to teens and adults alike.
I love that it takes place in the 1960s but still feels contemporary. No cell phones, going out to eat for less than a dollar, and swing dancing?! Yes please!
Whitney and Freddy are both Juniors who are trying to discover who they are and what they both want out of life. Both feel broken in different ways but through each other finally see their worth and it is everything.
I love that George doesn’t shy away from how hard high school can be and how rough home life can be too. But that when you can find a friend to rely on it can make all the difference.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 10, 2025Another captivating book by George Beckman describing the insecurities of two teenagers and how they support each other during their evolving relationship. An interesting read even for older adults as the book describes their daily interactions with their family members, friends and other adults.
