BIOGRAPHY

I like writing about inspirational characters. These people come to me in dreams facing tragedy, problems, and challenges. The protagonist face the difficulty and defeat it. They work, fight, and endure the trial before them and not just overcome the predicament, but flourish afterwards. I wake from the dream admiring the character after living their circumstance in the dream.

I started writing about twenty years ago partially to improve my writing skills, but mostly to bring the characters to life on paper. As I learned to express and illustrate the characters with their personality, my stories went from 500 words with just the facts to 1000 words bringing color of emotion with the depth of the character. It is my goal to inspire others by the stories expressed in my writing. I want to show whether the hero was facing a light hearted mistake or life threatening experience, the individuals of my stories succeed in life.

Whether stories are meant to bring laughter, sorrow, or surprise, they should inspire the reader to believe there is an end to their current adverse situation and they will survive to make a better life. This state of success is fleeting because life happens and there are always new dilemmas facing them. You know what, the previous tribulations only strengthen you for the next set of difficulties. Hopefully my stories can help people get through life with joy, love, and peace in their heart.

      • This sounds interesting but with dyslexia, I don't read much. It takes me a long time to get through books. Because I don't read much, I cannot post reviews on amazon. They have rules against it. I never did a review swap because of this. If you are patient and willing to wait, I think I can do it.

      • The most difficult part of writing characters of the opposite sex is trusting your writing. My first book, The Six Loves of Jack Brown is told from the view of six women. Being a man of many years, I did not feel comfortable upon completing the book that I captured the voice of women especially the younger ones. To correct any inaccuracies in the tone of the voices, I invented a newspaper reporter to tell the story of these women. A built in excuse to not be accurate. After publishing, several female friends side I did a good job of having the women come through in the stories. Trust your writing.

      • I started writing twenty years ago to partly improve my writing ability but mostly to rid my mind from dreams that I have had since I was young. One of the most memorable dreams from my twenties became the first chapter of my second book. I have many short stories based on my intricate dreams. After sharing some short stories, several friends suggested I publish a book.

      • I worked restaurant when I was younger, then industrial sales until I retired. There was immediate feedback from the customers about what they liked and dislike. There was comfort in know my work was appreciated. However, being an author is a lonely position. I do not see the feedback and when I do it is a rating on a site. There is a sense of acknowledgement but not the immediate and positive feedback of my previous careers. So far, no one has recognized me in public for my books. When they do, I will greet it with the same introspective positivity of my former positions.
