How passionate are you about writing?
I love to write more than anything else but time is never on my side, especially as I write such long books!
How long have you been writing and what inspired you to become a writer?
I've been writing since I was 6 years old, but never wanted to publish until now.
How did you get the idea for your first book?
I don't know, I picked up a pen one day and wrote about 1000 words; it just happened to be cats (many of whom have shared a life with me) and I didn't touch it for months. Then a clairvoyant one day asked me out of the blue had I stared writing something. I mentioned these few words, hardly thinking it qualified. He told me it was very important to carry on, so I did.
While choosing a name for your character, what aspects do you consider that determines what you finally call them?
Names are very important. Each name must have a history and a meaning. It is so important to me that my book contains a glossary of names and their meanings.
Do authors in general and you in particular plan series beforehand or do they just happen?
Some authors plan, for me it just must happen.
How do you choose which stories to tell?
My subconscious guides me, and I am influenced by things I read years ago.
Do you ever get writer’s block?
Yes.
Do you have a “reader” in mind while writing?
No, I make pictures in my head (my writing is very 'filmic') and I hope the 'pictures' will appeal to readers.
Who is the first person to read the first draft of your books?
Me, over and over and over, altered and altered and altered!
How do you get reviews? Which was the best review you ever got?
Don't have many, but they all seem fair. Keep hoping for more. Though I've had some good fans on facebook page, who realise this is more than just a cat book!
What does the word “story” signifies for you?
A narrative
Do you think an author should be bound by Genre?
No
Are you currently working on anything?
Yes, the sequel, and some short stories about love, but they are pretty oddball, like my life really.

Only that my book can read on many levels. It may be about cats, but ultimately it is about the human condition. Many of my readers want more!
