      • There's a fun little juvenile delinquency sequence in my debit novel, BRAVE MEN RUN, that is nearly exactly as it happened in real life when I was sixteen or so. Nearly. That's probably the only close-to-literal instance. However, like a method actor, I've certainly adapted the emotional context of many real-life experiences in order to accurately and realistically portray my characters' reactions.

      • It's a rare thing, but when it does happen, it's always gratifying, of course. I've received some delightful comments, compliments, and unexpected propositions from fans in real life. It's "soul coal" that keeps the train running!
