Madge Gressley lives in Missouri with her granddaughter Lacey, great-grandson Nathan, and two dogs (Pixie and Lily). An award-winning visual artist for over 30 years, Madge decided to trade her paintbrush and canvas for paper and pen but, in this case—computer and keyboard—and started her writing career in 2013. She works from home where she squeezes her writing in between jobs for her graphic design business and letting the dogs in and out—a full-time job in itself.
Gressley is under contract with Black Opal Books Publishing for the three books in her Inescapable series. Book one—The Beginning was released in April 2017 and is a 2017 Book Excellence Award Finalist. Book two—Remembering will be released October 28, 2017.
Gressley has also self-published two children’s books—Dexter’s Wonderful Day a Purple Dragonfly Award Winner and Totally Terrible Tommy. Both books are 5 Star Readers’ Choice books.
Currently, she working on the third book in the Sophie Collins Mystery series, her version of a modern-day Nancy Drew. Book one The Red Coat and book two, The Secret of Trail House Lodge are also 5 Star Readers’ Choice books.
Gressley’s latest endeavor is a short story that has been accepted in the CEA Greatest Anthology Written published by Celenic Earth Publications in an attempt to break the world record for the most short stories in one volume. The volume includes 107 short stories by authors from all over the world.
Growing up in the neighborhood of boys Madge's childhood image could more often be seen as a tomboy.
