Where were you born? Since how long have you been living with your temperamental Shih Tzu, Rooney?
I was born in St. Louis Missouri, where I now live and work. I've had my dog, Rooney for almost 11 years. I got him from a dog rescue, but he rescued me.
When did you join the professional organization, Romance Writers of America?
I joined RWA in August 2019. I'm a member of the national and local chapters. I've made incredible relationships with chapter members.
Were your family ever skeptical of your dreams of writing for a living? Who has been your greatest supporter?
I was born into a family of readers. My earliest memories are of me sitting at the breakfast table reading the newspaper with my family. They weren't surprised that I wrote a novel, they were more surprised that it "looked like a book." LOL
Why did you choose to write in the Romance genre?
My favorite genre is romance. So, I write what I know.
What are some things to keep in mind while writing the first book in the series?
I think it is important to have an overall plan for the series and to keep impeccable notes on the books in the series. Plan. Plan. Plan.
What inspired you to write your book, Kandi's Crush: A BWWM Sweet Billionaire Romance?
After performing extensive research, I was surprised that there were no novels with that name. I knew that I wanted to write a story about a childhood crush.
How did you begin writing the Executive Suite series?
I wanted to write a workplace romance.
Who inspired the character of King of Dynex, Garrett in "It's A Work Thing"?
I work in Information Technology. Garrett is an amalgamation of all of the masculine energy that I come in contact with on a daily basis. He is bits and pieces of various people that I've met over the years.
What is the one thing you wish you knew when you started writing your first book?
I wish I had thought more about marketing. LOL
Which is your favorite place to have cupcakes from?
There's a local cupcake shop called, "The Cup." My favorites are the Lemon Drop cupcakes.
How did publishing your first book change your process of writing?
Man, I learned so many lessons. I'm not afraid to rewrite!
If you ever get a chance to open up a bakery, will you do it? Why or why not?
I would. I took a cake decorating course a few years ago. I'm pretty good with piping on frosting and doing roses.
How has been your experience with container gardening?
Not good. I purchased containers in April. They were dead by July.
Are you working on a new book? Is it going to be a series or a standalone?
I am currently working on a novel. It will fall under the Kandi's Crush universe.

I joined All Author earlier this year. I love the website. The automated tweets are an excellent way of passively marketing my books.
