Hi, my name's Maria Isabella. (First name, last name...sigh...I have to explain it all the time.) I'm a writer, author, and self-professed foodie (albeit hopefully not the snobby type).

I got my degree from Cleveland State University. Did it the hard way—with two majors (Mass Media Communication and Interpersonal Communication) plus a minor (International Marketing).

After graduation, I started out in high-end retail management, then left to start my family. Five kids and years of freelancing later, I reemerged into the corporate world to assume a meaningful career in creative writing.

All in all, I have 30+ years' professional experience. I've owned my own business. I've worked for others (including a global ad agency, big-time publisher, and greeting card company). I've overseen writers, artists, web designers, and salespeople. I've presented to all sorts of clients, from Fortune 500 corporations to mom-and-pop shops. And, oh yeah, I've written a book or two.

In a nutshell, I've pretty much done it all, creatively speaking: writing, editing, proofreading, art directing, project coordination, publishing, etc., etc. And not to toot my own horn, but my work has been recognized by some of the most respected creative organizations around. (Hey, I've even got the awards to prove it!)
