      • My dinner party is on!!
Ava Duvernay: she has an inspiring way of telling stories. I think she would make for great conversation.
Lena Waithe: umm, amazing on all aspects. Her delivery of stories through tv and film is uncompromising, uncomfortable, uncommon and undeniably necessary to Black culture.
Tiffany Haddish: not only is she hilarious but she also promotes other women on their grind. I need a friend like that in my life!

      • Yes I read book reviews. I am very into knowing where my readers are interested in and what they like or dislike about my books. I haven’t received any bad reviews yet so I don’t know how I would deal with them. I’m sure I would be disappointed but I would try to address whatever issue was pointed out maybe in another book. The really good ones I post on social media to encourage other people to read my books.

      • Literary success to me looks like people reading my book and enjoying it. The market is full of different books and genres and authors of all different backgrounds and all types of different creativity. My definition of success is someone sitting down reading my book and enjoying it. I didn’t become a writer to make a lot of money or get famous. I write because I love to and I like to provide good stories. There’s nothing better than a good story.

      • It’s the best feeling in the world being recognized for something that you put your heart and soul into. When people recognize or appreciate my work it’s encouragement for me to keep going and to keep writing.
