An Amateur In Every Sense of the Word
Ever since high school I've been drawn to the creative process. Whether it was writing short stories, or taking emo-edgy black and white photos with my high-school photography class issued Nikon camera.
Eventually graduation came and went and I left for boot camp two weeks later. I married, had babies, became a divorcee, and went back to work full time. All thoughts of hobbies went out the window. Now that my children are older, I find myself with more free time on my hands. Time to cook "fancy" meals, dabble in water-colors, make a slow motion videos of tea being poured out of the teapot, and time to take pictures of things that make me happy. Recently, I've buckled down and got serious about my writing. to the point where I've actually FINISHED a book! What a difference a year makes, it's crazy! |
Four things come not back--the spoken word, the sped arrow, the past life, and the neglected opportunity" Arabian proverb |
Most of my photography is done with an iPhone 8 plus. I use the app Lightroom CC for minor adjustments and/or color correcting, and I don't do people.
Is it because of my lack of skill, or my inherent introvert persona? Who knows. But sometimes, I get lucky and I manage to capture a moment that, to put it mildly, leaves me quite pleased.
