I love book reviews - whether "good" or "bad" because they mean a few things to me. Firstly, the read READ my book! WIN! Secondly, they cared enough to tell me what they thought - either good or bad. I listen to my readers and I am consistently learning but I will always stay true to myself. If I can change something and it's true to me, I work on it. But if it's not "me" then I don't because the reader then simply needs to find a different book! And there are tons out there... diversity is the spice of life!
I was so afraid of publishing so I really stressed about the whole process. After the first one was done, I realized it was easier than I thought so the second one went really easily. Now, it's just all the marketing - but again, it's fun too, just takes up a lot of time!
You should write as consistently as you can. Even if you're not feeling like it. Sometimes I have the biggest story breakthroughs when I'm least expecting it. Creativity comes with just letting go and doing the work. It's a fine line but because we aren't robots, the creative flow is always going. Just keep writing and don't criticize yourself for some sub-par work. Sometimes that's what's needed to get to the magic! Edit it out later!
