As James Baldwin said, “The terrible thing about being a writer is that you don’t decide to become one, you discover that you are one.†I began writing after I moved to Switzerland. The quietness was deafening. I know now why so many great works in literature and opera were written there. I couldn't hide from my need to write anymore in the silence. In January I will have been writing for one year, but thankfully I am not living in Swizterland anymore. But I have found writing gives me a voice I've been trying to speak with my entire life and now I cannot imagine my life without it.
