I truly appreciate your thoughtful words. It brings me great joy to know that my original intention of both enlightening and entertaining my audience resonated with you. It’s rewarding to feel that I didn’t miss the mark in creating a meaningful connection.
Yes, Marie, I’m still not very active on AllAuthor. I’ve been tied up with other projects, and the sequel to Bone Deep Blues, (FIRE AND ICE BLUES), is now available on Amazon in digital and audio formats. The paperback and hardcover editions are expected to go live before the 25th. My next project, a novella titled The Day I Spoke with God, is nearly finished, and I’ve started working on Number One Fan.
Dear Brian,
I’ve been following your work and truly admire the impact you’ve had on so many readers. Your ability to convey complex ideas with clarity and heart is remarkable. I’m curious: What do you believe is the most powerful way for an author to truly connect with readers in today’s fast-paced world?
Thanks for your thoughtful reply. It’s encouraging to hear how much emphasis you place on both the quality of the book and the importance of strategic marketing. I’ve noticed that authors who blend creativity with smart promotion tend to reach the right readers more meaningfully.
Out of curiosity, what part of the marketing process do you find the most challenging or time-consuming these days?
Wow! that's really fantastic, I’ve been connecting with authors in your genre and it's been insightful hearing how different everyone’s approach to promotions has been.
Do you have a go-to method that’s working well for you right now?
My writing process is far from traditional. I usually start with an idea, a concept, and a rough outline, but by the time the book is done, everything has shifted. "Bone Deep Blues," the first book in the JD Walker series, began as a story about a transplanted East Coaster becoming a small-town sheriff in Montana. By the end, JD had evolved into a former Navy SEAL playing blues in a nightclub in NYC. I guess my writing feels more like a continuous flow of impressions, thoughts, and sensations spilling out from the chaotic world in my head. "Fire and Ice" was a bit less wild since it continued the story from "Bone Deep Blues," but there were still plenty of changes along the way.
That's sound great! I understand that you're busy, lately, I’ve noticed a shift, readers seem to engage more with stories behind the book or author, not just the cover and blurb. It’s been interesting seeing how small tweaks can lead to big boosts in visibility.
A lot of the authors I work with reach a point where a bit of extra support can make a real difference, whether it’s optimizing their Amazon presence, building a stronger online platform, or creating engaging content that connects with the right audience.
I’d be glad to explore ways we can grow your reach or take some of the marketing workload off your plate if it’s something you're open to.
I’d love to hear what you’re currently focused on, whether it's building reviews, growing your audience, or just sharing your story more widely. What’s your main focus right now?
Margaret, I’m close to releasing a novella titled "The Day I Spoke with God," which tells the story of a young man who succumbs to substance abuse. After his death, he observes his life and the impact he had on everyone he met. He then faces a choice between three options, with his decision potentially affecting everyone profoundly. I’ve also started working on a new project that could become another series, "Number One Fan," featuring a strong and intuitive female FBI agent on the hunt for a serial killer.
Wow! that's really great,
I actually help authors with things like Amazon SEO, trailers, blurbs, websites, BookTok, email campaigns, Newsletter set-up lead capture page and more, all designed to get books in front of more readers.
If you ever want to explore that, I’d be glad to help.
Hello Brian, I hope you're doing well
I came across your profile here on AllAuthor and your book really stood out. Congrats on getting it out into the world! How’s the journey been so far?
It’s been quite a journey! The first installment of the JD Walker Adventure Series, "BONE DEEP BLUES," received an incredible response that led to the release of its sequel, "FIRE AND ICE BLUES," which came out today. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the books!
