A good cover and title are critical. They are the first impressions one gets about your book and the best chance for it to be purchased. If the cover is vague or confusing, people will pass it by. If the title is weird, too long or unimpressive, it's far less likely to be bought. And people might be wary of future books, even if they do have a better cover and title. It's best to take the time and make the effort to get it right from the start.
I learned that editing took on a whole new meaning than it had before, I had to learn new writing skills. I also had to learn a lot about social media marketing and marketing in general. It was quite a process and I'm still learning.
