In a way, I do that when I write. My protagonists tend to be a lot like I was in high school, except they make different choices. For example, Hannah overcomes her shyness and stands up for herself, winning new friends in the process.
I would have liked to have been more confident in who I am when I was a teenager and not made some of the mistakes I made when I was in college. In that way, I'm a bit like Hannah's mom.
I also wish I'd had the ability to express my feelings about my gender identity earlier. Life would have been a lot easier for me if I'd been able to transition earlier.
