      • The chapter called "Dreamer" contains a half-dozen flash fiction tales ... they are all actual dreams (well, nightmares), I've experienced.

      • There are elements in each of my stories that have come from life experience. For example, in my soon-to-be-released "Sojourn Macabre," the story "Glitch" takes place in Edisto, SC. Much of what my protagonists experience as they drive through the area came from a trip taken with my wife during the run up to the 2020 election. The story "Judjmint Howse" was inspired during another trip to Lake Lure, NC. We passed a small church with a sign out front that read "Judgement House" and my wife turned to me and said, "That would be a great title for a story!" Being whipped, I obliged.

In my first book, "Short Stories and Assorted Nightmares," The section titled "Dreamer" is a compilation of flash fiction taken directly from my dreams. The story "Cam4" was inspired by my Blink wireless security cameras when my Cam4 went missing and, for months, continued to occasionally send us images and a creepy video with a growling soundtrack.
