I would definitely become more involved in creative endeavors, such as writing and painting. But years ago, it was much harder to get work published. Nowadays, self-publishing has not only made the process easier, but it has opened the process up to everyone.
The joke writing process can be difficult, because it is often an iterative process. Before I "finalize" a joke, I often perform it in front of a live audience to get their reaction. I use those performances to make constructive edits that improve, or make the joke funier.
I enjoy the writing process, and telling my jokes in front of live audiences. But then I thought that writing my jokes in a book, with great and funny illustrations, was a fantastic way to give worldwide audiences a chance to read and enjoy my material.
For a comedy book, a great cover is extremely important. It has to grab the readers attention, and most of all, it must be funny. I also think this strategy is true for any book.
