George Simons 1 year ago This book was impactful to me. Jon-Jamal Turner writes in a no-nonsense manner detailing the brutal pattern of assault and keeping down of African Americans in the USA. As a "woke" Caucasian reading this book, I thought I was aware of discrimination in the USA. The book took my awareness to another level. It is a sad but essential eye-opener because it lays out the chronology of racist events in our country to the current day. The book is critical reading for those who want more than sound bites on cable news or Facebook posts to understand American history on this topic. To make a difference, it certainly doesn't hurt to start with the truth. Ripples of Time certainly takes a hard-hitting step in that direction. I highly recommend it.
