Do you love reading fiction? Reading is one of the most inexpensive escapes that you can find in life, enabling you to travel to any part of the world or even to other worlds, party with just about any kind of people, and be whoever you want to be once you open the first page of a book.

That is the beauty of reading and you do not need to spend a fortune to get that feeling and enjoy the experience. That is also why many writers do what they do – to give their readers a new character, a glimpse into a new world.

As an author, the greatest satisfaction for me is when I receive feedback from readers telling me how much they enjoyed a book I’ve written.

      • Probably my first book, The Sacred Knife. That turned out to be the first book in a series which I wrote (and am still writing) one a period of six years. I really had no idea of how the plot would develop when I started, and having just published the fourth book in the series and one more to go, I could have made my life easier if I had made some changes in that first book. Nevertheless, feedback has been great, so it's more of a personal thing rather than a flaw in the book itself.

      • I write in several different genres, and also craft some short stories as well as novel. I tend to have 2 or 3 projects on the go at any time. Thus, if my creativity sort of dries up on one project, I go to one of the others. Therefore, I never really hit that dreaded writer' block.

      • My philosophy is that if you don't enjoy writing the story, no one will enjoy reading it. It's important that you like the story that you're writing. I believe that's more important than being grammatically correct, or spelling, or punctuation, etc. A good editor will be able to identify those and they can be corrected. However, nothing can fix a story that you don't enjoy writing and it will show up in the finished product.
