BIOGRAPHY
I am a writer, ghostwriter, developmental editor & graphic artist. I sold my first story in 1973. I’ve had fiction in Isaac Asimov's Science Fiction Magazine, Fantastic, Amazing Stories, and online at Electric Spec, Mystery Weekly, Every Day Fiction and Flash Fiction Online, et al. My first book was, oddly enough, a children's book, DINOSAUR DRESS UP published by William Morrow in 1992. Since then, I have published a number of other books, mostly novels, mostly science fiction, fantasy, and horror, with the occasional work of mainstream fiction. I have also ghostwritten more than a dozen works of science fiction and fantasy, as well as memoirs and cozy mysteries.
As an artist, I have hundreds of drawings, paintings, and illustrations to my credit, over a freelance career spanning nearly 50 years. I am proud to have worked for comic and MAD artist Wally Wood in the 1970s. I’ve also worked with Dick Giordano, Bob Layton, and Frank McLaughlin. My graphic novel THE ENDLESS INCIDENT was published in 2014. In 2020 I completed the art for DEEDS UNSUNG, a short graphic novel on the Vietnam War.
I live in Rockingham County, North Carolina with my wife and occasional collaborator, author Grace Marcus. My website is https://alsirois.com. I’m on BlueSky, Instagram, Facebook, and Linked In.
