Born in Hungary I live in Montreal. I was an award-winning radio talk show host and gossip columnist. My latest book, a post-Holocaust memoir Makeup Tips from Auschwitz. How Vanity Saved My Mother's Life was shortlisted for the Whistler Independent Book Award.

Oh yes, I once babysat an entire week for John Lennon and Yoko Ono and narrowly a voided war over the lyrics to Give Peace a Chance.

      • Write more and stop belittling yourself by saying you can never be Philip Roth or Mordecai Richler. You are not supposed to be Roth or Richler. You are supposed to be Tommy Schnurmacher. If I knew that then, I would have written a few novels by now.
